Wanted Columbian-style empanadas and these EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS! They really hit the mark, and the green sauce was great as well. Can’t wait to go back and try more stuff but also might not be able to resist ordering combo #1 again 😅

Very slow service. I placed an order over the phone for takeout and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later and I still had to wait another 30 minutes in the store.

This place is an offense to us Colombians, and it makes me sad when people from other countries go and stay with that image of Colombia, this restaurant does not represent us! The taste of the food is bad, the customer service is extraordinarily terrible, the few times I went I always left discouraged, I don't recommend it at all! A supposed empanada filled with pure oil, miniature and super hard. I don't know where they get the famous COLOMBIANO from” because there is NOTHING from Colombia

Friendly service from nice, family-owned restaurant. The empanadas were fresh, crispy, and delicious. So were the papa rellenas. Very authentic Colombian food! Prices were reasonable. Sorry, no pics because we ate it all too fast. Can't wait to go back!

El Cafetal is a perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal, a pleasant atmosphere, and a little bit of Colombia in your city. I highly recommend it!

I happened to be in Nampa for a Dr. appointment and decided to give Colombian food a try. I ordered their empanadas and deep fried plantain. The plantain was okay but tasted like the oil it was fried in was old or overused which made it greasy tasting. I didn't care for the overpowering flavor of cumin in the empanadas either. Overall the food was bland and uninspired. They didn't offer any iced tea or sodas to drink on their menu, only fruit drinks blended with a choice of water or milk at $8.99 and $9.99 respectively which I thought was too expensive, so I got plain ice water that was just awful, tasted like it came out of a toilet tank. The waitress was quite young, pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was meh; very open and absent decor with a large screen TV mounted on the wall with the volume too loud on a Latin sports channel that didn't make a pleasant dining experience. I doubt I'll go back again.
BEWARE: I got violently ill hours after eating here from food poisoning and reported this restaurant to the health department!

I really liked the food, I ordered a tray paisa, the amount of food is abundant. I went with ten other friends, they ordered different dishes and everyone was very happy with the food, the portion, the price and the service was very fast and friendly.Even though we arrived just before it closed, we left a pig and little tip, what a shame. Sorry!

Parking: Lots of free parking

Kid-friendliness: There were 5 children in our group and they were treated patiently and friendly, despite how spoiled they are because their parents do not educate them well, they are my nephews by the way.
