Shanghai was our absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in Canyon County. They had excellent quality paired with fair prices and a ton of vegetarian options for our family. I wish I had left this review sooner as it seems they have closed as of late July. It is a family tradition to get Shanghai on Birthdays, I just hope they open- at least for delivery and take-out- again soon.

The pork fried rice had a strange taste and smell, almost like it had been burned, and the top scraped off, the mandarin chicken was no better. Considering the qaulity of food the price is outrageous, won't return here

I do not see how this place still operates, or how it passes to get any kind of license, permit, or inspection.

Food dry, bland. Not worth the over $100 I spent. I am being generous with the two stars. They didn’t even send chopsticks with my order. Not that that’s a dealbreaker. The food was just the dealbreaker of ever going back.

My boyfriend and I have ordered from here several times, and tonight is the LAST time we will. We spent $40 on a family dinner, and ate all of 5-6 bites between us, and had to find something else to eat.
The mandarin chicken was dry, and some pieces were hard. The whole dish tasted like it was a few days old, frozen, and tossed back into a fryer.
The fried rice was mushy, and had a very strong chemical taste. Almost like expired eggs. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if all the ingredients were expired.
The pork from the pork and seeds was dry as hell, and almost inedible.
The egg rolls were soggy, and the insides were pure mush.
The broccoli chicken had the same chemical taste as the fried rice.
The only thing that tasted remotely okay was the egg flower soup, and even that had barely any taste.
We will NEVER be back, and the whole place should probably be inspected by a health inspector based off the chemical taste in the food. Do yourself a favor and go to meridian for better chinese food.

This was one of the worst Chinese food places I've ever had. Seriously just go to Panda instead I'm not even a fan of panda but it's much cheaper and taste much better than this place.
First off the general chicken was bland and tasted more like sweet and sour than general chicken, the breading was beyond soggy and I found hair in it.
The chow mein was also bland, the only flavor to it was very odd and tasted like snot or bad breath, it was really weird.
The fried rice was still white, had a weird chemical smokey flavor to it and was just not good.
The dude at the front was super cool and I don't want to shit on anybody but this food was beyond terrible.

This is hands down the worst Chinese food in the valley and I don't say that lightly. The sauce was so watery that my kung pao was a soup I had to eat it with a spoon and the flavor was one knotch above inedible. My husband's chow mein was bland and the generals chicken was soggy and tasted more like sweet and sour.
That being said the service was phenomenal and the portion sizes were great. I just wish I wanted to eat more then the one bite I took before instantly regretting my choice.

Not sure they will ever reopen the dining area, and all you can get now is takeout or delivery. That said, OMG, tasty AF!

Dissatisfied with food. Bbq pork ribs were extremely dry, swimming in canned sauce that could not save it. Rangoon were generic and wilted, filling was fine. Egg rolls were soft and floppy. My fried shrimp were edible though, again soft coating. This meal was nearly 50$'s. Rarely splurge like this so i was disappointed and angry. I'll never eat here again after tossing majority in trash.

Kung Pao Beef and pot stickers as amazing as it gets! Fresh and hot!
Visiting from out of state and in the mood for some take out we found Shanghai Restaurant. Seeing that some reviews were not favorable, we had to try ourselves. Service was fast and friendly. Having had takeout in many places over the years I have to say the food was Amazing!

I’m not one to leave a review, but after eating here I felt I needed to. We got our food delivered, and everything was terrible. The vegetables tasted like they were washed with soap and not rinsed, mandarin chicken was just sweet mush, fried rice was borderline inedible. The beef Hong Kong wasn’t gross, but didn’t have much flavor The wonton soup was so bad my dogs spit it out. I don’t know how they’re still in business.

This is the ONLY Chinese food my husband and I order from in Nampa. The service is awesome and workers are so wonderful. The food is always hot and delicious! We've tried everywhere else and nothing compared to Shanghai.

I’ve been looking for a new chinese takeout/delivery place, since my favorite one recently closed. I ordered pork fried rice, mandarin chicken, crab rangoons and a 2 liter, The price with a 5$ tip was around 40$. I was expecting the usual portions you’d expect in our inflated economy. I was wrong, Box was packed with chicken, the crab rangoons had plenty of filling and it was all fresh, warm and delicious. Thank you !! You found yourself a new customer. $40 and I got leftovers for a couple days !
