Kayden was our server. He did absolutely AMAZING! He never forgot anything, he was very attentive, he was quick, he was very thoughtful and he was kind. Dinner and dessert was fabulous! Everything was cooked perfectly and served quickly. Dinner at Mackenzie River is the definition of great food served with a smile.
The huckleberry seltzer is amazing!

Kid-friendliness: Sam was our server, and as a mother she sympathizes and empathizes with our situation bringing a one-year-old and a three-year-old and hope both had an amazing awesome time!

Who brings out burned nachos? Secondly, how does one burn nachos??? The cheese was so hard and crispy. Wait time was ridiculous to be served burned nachos. I wanted to save my peach lemonade to have with my food. Bad idea, the ice was nearly all melted by the time we got the food. Then the waiter finaly returns after we picked at whatbwas eatable and asked my wife of she wanted a refill on her drink, then got her one.... never asked me... that was odd.
Train the cook. Never serve burned food. Last time it was burned meatloaf, not sure why we tried again.
We ordered at 6:54 and got our food 35 minutes later. 2 people that sat outside 10 minutes after we ordered, had their food before us.
We were seated in the bar. No one came over for at least 5 minutes while we watched servers visit with each other and stare at the TV. We went to the host and asked who our server was. They said they would send someone over. No one came over for 5 minutes. They were walking around the room but we were treated like we weren’t even there. We’ve been before and gotten mediocre service but this was terrible.

Missed on my burger and fries that were over done. Crispy charred patty and dry hollow fries. Our food sat waiting to be taken to the table too long too. Staff were all angry looking other than our nice server. Saw them arguing in bar area which is tacky. Some good dishes but just not mine.

The service is always poor. Food has been just awful. We sent back our last one because it was inedible. Son didn't even get part of his order. That was our last attempt at eating there.

It was my first time coming here and I was impressed. It was a Sunday evening and the place was not busy at all. When we were seated, I noticed how clean and well decorated the building was.
The Pineapple Chutney flatbread was very crunchy and sweet. For my main meal I tried Steak Frites and the thin crust MacKenzie River Pizza. The steak was cooked how I liked it and the fries were very crispy. The pizza was very fresh and delicious. It was crispy and the toppings worked perfectly together.
I would definitely come back here for their pizza and flatbread. However, for steak, I would rather go to the nearby Texas Roadhouse. Service was amazing but the wait time was pretty long. Even still, this doesn’t defeat the fact that this is one of the nicest restaurants in Pocatello.

We went to MacKenzie River in Pocatello for my wife's birthday this past Monday. We were greeted quickly and seated at our booth right away. It took about 10 minutes for our server to finally come by - he did apologize for the wait. We later got our order taken and I asked for a dinner salad to come before my meal. It took about 15 or 20 minutes to finally get the dinner salad which was odd to me, because I had asked for it early and normally a salad shouldn't take too long to prepare and it wasn't super-busy on that evening. My wife ordered the meatloaf. The presentation of the dish was very good, but the meatloaf was cold. We asked the server, Jayden, to please take it back and warm up the meatloaf ONLY but the whole plate ended up getting microwaved which made the sliced veggies very hot, but the meatloaf (it's thicker than the sliced veggies) was still a bit on the cold side and I wonder if our server even passed along to the cook to only heat up the meatloaf itself vs the whole plate. Everything was slow to get to us that evening as well and no one ever seemed to want to check on us. Several staff members would walk by our table but no one ever took a moment to stop to ask how it was going, if we wanted a refill on our drinks, etc. Aside from the slow service, my biggest complaint is about the temperature of the food there. In a kitchen I think it should be STANDARD PROTOCOL for everything to be "temped" before it leaves for the dining room and that simple task would greatly elevate the quality of your food. On a couple of other past occasions, I've ordered a hamburger and it came out very undercooked and raw-looking, so this isn't the first time something has been undercooked or cold. Again, please consider temping food items before they leave the kitchen! I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant and would like for it to succeed, but at this point, I'm wondering if I will ever come back - especially for a special event like a birthday or anniversary. My wife an I left the restaurant deflated by the experience.

We ordered in on door dash. The food was terrible! Steak Bites overcooked and very small portion. Burger was burnt to a crisp. Flourless cake melted. Only the pizza was okay, not great but okay. $100 down the drain. ??

Just ate here! I literally asked the server if they served blankets with meals. It was so cold in the restaurant. The lady behind us was thinking she went to her car and literally got a coat.
Food was a nice change.
We should have ate outside! It was warmer!
