I went to Off the Rails about a month ago for a business lunch on the request of a customer. Had the buffalo salad and it was great. Took my wife for lunch today cause we happened to be over on that side of town. We both ordered pizzas and split 'em so we could try 'em both out. DANG! BEST PIZZA we ever had in Pocatello. Seriously. The sourdough crust is perfect. Toppings unique and cooked to perfection. We're both looking forward to leftovers tomorrow for lunch. Hats off to you Off the Rails Brewing!

We absolutely loved it here! Had an amazing burger and great fries. We were able to bring our pup with us inside (we were traveling from out of town). Our beers were delicious as well.

Very friendly staff!! I am super impressed with how organized everything is. They are also dog friendly so don’t be afraid to bring your petsšŸ˜‡

Shawn was amazing, the beer was on point and the Dog Catcher was to die for. Thanks OrR, we had a great time with you in good old Pocadello! Thanks for the hospitality!

Great food and the beers were unique. We ordered a flight of beers and the standouts were the vanilla and peanut butter stout. And, great dog-friendly patio

I’ll start off by saying that our whole experience wasn’t terrible. The food and our server (cute lady with dreadlocks) were great! However, our visit was definitely soured by bad attitude from an employee.

We came in from Salt Lake to meet up with my In-Laws (from AZ) who are looking to buy a home in Idaho. We’d never been to Pocatello before and found Off The Rails because we were looking for somewhere to meet up for dinner that was 1) dog friendly, 2) kid friendly, and 3) had good food and beer. This place met all 3 ā€œon paperā€. We even called ahead to confirm the first two.

At one point during our visit, I asked a male server with long hair in a bun if they had a bowl of water our pups could have. He said yes, but they were a little busy, so after a while I figured he’d forgot and I’d just ask someone else. No big deal.

A while later some of our main entrees got brought to our table by a lady in a pink T-shirt. She asked if we needed anything else, so I took the opportunity to ask for a bowl of water for our dogs again. I let her know I’d asked the other gentlemen, but he might’ve forgotten and it wasn’t a problem if that was the case. Her response was ā€œwe’re pretty busy, and we take care of our human guests first. If you really need it that bad, there’s a water station outside with plastic cups.ā€ Being as it was our first time there, I didn’t even know they had a patio let alone a water station. Our whole table was floored by her response.

Our server (who was pretty busy) came by to check on us and she actually took the time to ask another employee if they had a sec to grab our pups water. He was super awesome and brought them over a huge bowl of ice water which they started drinking immediately.

I’ve been a bartender and server at bars that are dog friendly. The furry, four legged guests matter just as much as the human guests. Their humans typically pick establishment because of how their canine companions are treated there. If you advertise as dog friendly, be dog FRIENDLY.

I give our server 5 stars, the food 4 stars, but that 0 star attitude totally brought the overall rating down.

My
I wanted a hard cider...it took me two different assistants to help. It seems like they are more worried about closing than helping the customer.... maybe I'm wrong

Consistently great food, fun rail themed atmosphere, love the beer selection.
Consistently understaffed through brunch/lunch on the weekends.

I'm really sad that I'm leaving a negative review... The service was fantastic, and the beer was so good I bought some to take home, but the food killed it for me. I ordered the cheesesteak with fried pickles and a Margherita pizza. The cheesesteak innards were delicious, but the bread was so dry I didn't eat it. The fried pickles were floppy even for fried pickles. The pizza was, hands down, the worst Margherita pizza I've ever had. It tasted like bread and balsamic vinegar. The tomatoes, what few there were, were underripe, there was hardly any cheese, and the basil looked like an afterthought. For $24, I could have bought 4 frozen pizzas and been much happier.

Being a Pocatello local, I have come into Off the Rails many of times. This experience tonight was a joke. No bar tender came to my table to check on us once over the three hours. I stood at the bar for five minutes with no acknowledgment waiting for a beer. The bathroom was an absolute nightmare. Toilet seat broken, piss on the floor and no paper towels…makes me wonder if staff even cared to check it out once over their shift. The bar tenders were yelling across the restaurant at one another…clearly disrupting everyone else’s experience. Beer was good as always, but the atmosphere and service was the worst I have ever experienced at this establishment. I know if the owner(s) were there things would have been different. It was a real shame.
