I moved to Pocatello in November of 2023 and started checking out local places- once I found this place I don't go anywhere else.
It has been, every time, consistently satisfying, quality and delicious. Always hits the spot and the staff is friendly and amazing to the point that I feel like I'm coming to visit a friend's place now.
All for a good price too. Love this place and it deserves all the stars!!

I wanted to like this place because the staff were great and the atmosphere looked fun. Unfortunately their online menu on their official website has not been updated so expect to pay no less than $15 per menu item.
I got takeout for the teriyaki steak bowl with grilled veggies and the portneuf roll.
The roll was a good size/amount of pieces for the $16 price tag. Most sushi places wouldn’t have given more than 6-8. Everything about it seemed good except the crunch bits. They weren’t really crunchy and they looked and tasted low quality.
The teriyaki steak bowl was a big let down. They don’t give you much food to make this worth the money. The grilled veggies were really sour, especially the broccoli. The steak is full of cartilage/tendons that you can’t chew through so I could only eat about 75% of the steak bites. If the quality of the meat was edible; I’d probably have given this a 4/5 star instead. The only positive remark I have about the bowl is the sauce was delicious, however, they give you so little that it’s not enough for the meal. I’m sure this can be fixed by just asking for more.
Overall, I’ll restate that I wanted to like this place but the inedible steak parts killed and seemingly low quality ingredients used for the $16 steak bowl just killed my desire to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Best food in Pocatello. Get the dozo role and the fatty tuna nigiri. It does not dissappoint. Well done Sumisu!!
