Not good. Hostess. Told us all the tables were filled up with people who had reservations. They said this was the case even though they were visibly very many tables open on the patio. We looked online. They still had reservations available. Made a reservation and came back 15 minutes later, you were then seated, the wait staff was overworked and visibly stressed. Our server was good. But because we were seated outside and they had too much space to walk between the kitchen and all the different tables which delayed service. The food for dinner the large burger was very dry and did not have enough sauce. Gluten-free bun was fine. For the prices. It was not a premium experience. Nice outdoor seating area. Would recommend eating somewhere else. I really did not want to tip at this place because the service was not very good, however I did will still leave some tip out of courtesy.

We made a reservation at noon on Saturday as Sun Valley On Ice performers usually start practice around noon, but we were disappointed to discover it was ending. Food is very good but expect Sun Valley Resort prices. It is a pleasant place for lunch.

We had a great experience with terrific food. All eight of us enjoyed what we ordered. The only quibble was with the noise, but that was because of a private party that had reserved half of the available seating ... and the rest of the tables were full as well.

The only issue we had was that we had a reservation for six people and when we arrived at our reservation time, we were informed that we would be seated but there would be a long wait before our service could begin. After about 30 minutes, one of the wait staff came by to say it might be much longer but he was not our waiter. We indicated that it had already been a very long wait and asked him to see if we could get service soon. He checked with the reception desk and came back and said he could take our orders. It seems that the restaurant was severely under staffed. Not a great impression for our first visit.

Worst experience ever . Ordered salads and prime rib entree. They brought everything at once the salad had no dressing and no taste, the tomato soup had no taste either. The server did not know how to stage the meal in courses, which he admitted due to lack of training. The prime rib was sent back it was medium rare, when they brought it bac later it was grey and well done . The whole experience was the worst. On top of that the manager could have cared less and did nothing, what bad experience. Don't eat there.
As usual, our meal at Gretchen's was outstanding. My husband had the halibut special and side Caesar and I had my favorite meal which is stir fry vegetables and cashews with chicken. Desert was a decadent chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Gretchen's is our favorite restaurant in Sun Valley.

Food is average. Price is high. Vibe is also high. Don’t get it twisted, you’re there for the nice cozy vibes and good service. The food comes second.
We recommend the truffle fires and the tempura green beans. The rest of the stuff is hit or miss.

Food was not great - especially for the price. Service was lackluster. Waitress was very nice but gave us the wrong menu - rather than tell us and ask us to reselect an option based on the correct menu, she simply chose a similar dish for one of us. A dish we never would have chosen. When told about the mistake she didn't offer to get us something else. She did end up comping us the entree but we did not enjoy it. Food felt like conference center food.

Food and wine selection were excellent. Lunch menu available all day. Manager was superb. w reseated us to a table away from a large party giving us more space and privacy.

We came on Valentine's Day. Restaurant Seemed short staffed. My food came before my husbands. We did get complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and the wine pours were big, which was nice. We weren't in a hurry but did notice some other customers frustrated with service. We didn't care so much and the food was excellent
