We’ve only visited Duchin Lounge at night and only for drinks, so our experience may differ from daytime or lunch service. We stop by often when we’re staying at the Lodge during ski trips. The décor is comfortable, the drinks are consistently good, and the atmosphere is lively. During peak ski season it can get crowded, but that feels like part of the charm. We’ve had great conversations with both locals and visitors and have enjoyed many good drinks here after full days on the mountain.
Our only wish is that they would remove the TV screens—they break up the ambiance, and it isn’t a sports-bar setting. Additionally, there are no substantial vegan options on the menu—they really need to work on adding some.

Gretchen's is a beautiful and welcoming setting for guests and visitors at the at the Sun Valley resort. It's not pretentious but it's very nice. The food is always prepared well. We often eat here multiple times during our stays and always enjoy the experience.

Not good. Hostess. Told us all the tables were filled up with people who had reservations. They said this was the case even though they were visibly very many tables open on the patio. We looked online. They still had reservations available. Made a reservation and came back 15 minutes later, you were then seated, the wait staff was overworked and visibly stressed. Our server was good. But because we were seated outside and they had too much space to walk between the kitchen and all the different tables which delayed service. The food for dinner the large burger was very dry and did not have enough sauce. Gluten-free bun was fine. For the prices. It was not a premium experience. Nice outdoor seating area. Would recommend eating somewhere else. I really did not want to tip at this place because the service was not very good, however I did will still leave some tip out of courtesy.

We made a reservation at noon on Saturday as Sun Valley On Ice performers usually start practice around noon, but we were disappointed to discover it was ending. Food is very good but expect Sun Valley Resort prices. It is a pleasant place for lunch.
We had a great experience with terrific food. All eight of us enjoyed what we ordered. The only quibble was with the noise, but that was because of a private party that had reserved half of the available seating ... and the rest of the tables were full as well.

The only issue we had was that we had a reservation for six people and when we arrived at our reservation time, we were informed that we would be seated but there would be a long wait before our service could begin. After about 30 minutes, one of the wait staff came by to say it might be much longer but he was not our waiter. We indicated that it had already been a very long wait and asked him to see if we could get service soon. He checked with the reception desk and came back and said he could take our orders. It seems that the restaurant was severely under staffed. Not a great impression for our first visit.

Worst experience ever . Ordered salads and prime rib entree. They brought everything at once the salad had no dressing and no taste, the tomato soup had no taste either. The server did not know how to stage the meal in courses, which he admitted due to lack of training. The prime rib was sent back it was medium rare, when they brought it bac later it was grey and well done . The whole experience was the worst. On top of that the manager could have cared less and did nothing, what bad experience. Don't eat there.
