Super good food and the BEST service. We will be back

Stayed at a hotel a block away. They told me this place was good. I rode 9hrs on a motorcycle today! Good was a drastic understatement! The filet mignon was cooked to perfection as medium rare! OMG!!! The chef packed in the flavor which I did not think possible! This is hands down one of the top 3 steak dinners I have ever had!!! The chef put the right amount of kosher salt and the herbs on top were a perfect blend! The mashed potatoes did not need salt and they too were packed with flavor which I was pleasantly surprised by! The buttered bread with the herbs and spices was a perfect trio show stopper of a meal!!!

Pretty good food. We like stronger flavours than is typical. The coleslaw in the chicken schnitzel had capers and jalapeños. That was nice. My muffeleta sandwich could use stronger olives. The desserts were very good and different. I liked the overall uniqueness of the cafe.

This place is a gem. There was just something extra special about the food. I highly recommend.

Food was good. However, we waited and waited to have it served. The kitchen was SLOW. Since it is the start of the season, hopefully, they speed it up soon.

Came in for lunch while in town for work and sat at the counter. Was pleased to see some menu items available in half sizes. The food was great and the staff is attentive. Will definitely return when I’m back in town.

We were on a road trip and didn't plan this stop - we were blown away. The food was perfect, no improvement could be given. I had a handmade tortellini with filet mignon pieces for only $22. The kids portions were extremely generous and we had leftovers, if I recall the kids portions were $10. We are from Canada, these prices are insanely good for the quality I received. The atmosphere was engaging, the kids could play eye-spy from the table because there was so much to look at. Staff were wonderful. This stop became a highlight of our trip and what we now tell everyone about!

May 18, 2025. 4 of us for lunch, ordered a variety of sandwiches and lasagna, service and food and atmosphere were all great. Would definitely eat there again

Wow! We had a terrific dinner. The decorations are a lot of fun to look at. Our server was excellent, very fast and friendly. I was told the chef has a 5 star rating, and I believe it.

Sad to say I had never been there before. I will definitely be back.

Had the best piece of Ahi Tuna here for lunch today. Others order the soup, Cuban Sandwich and Blackberry Grilled Cheese sandwich. All were very good. Service was excellent as well. Prices very reasonable.

We had an amazing dinner here last night. I had a spicy seafood pasta and my husband had chicken piccata. Incredible food and presentation and kind and very attentive staff. Ask to sit at one of the seats overlooking the kitchen - we loved chatting with the chef as well as our server. They are also pouring some nice wines. Everything was at a Very fair price, especially for the quality . We will stop in Wallace just to eat here anytime we are passing by. However, this town is also a must see!

We had a wonderful visit today! Stopped in for a coffee and slice of pie with our toddler. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, even when we needed to clean up a mess from our little one.

Nestled in the heart of the charming mountain town of Wallace, The Blackboard Café is an absolute treasure. This locally owned and operated gem offers a thoughtfully crafted, from-scratch menu that showcases the passion and dedication of its culinary team. Every dish we experienced was a testament to their commitment to quality, flavor, and presentation.

We started with the ahi appetizer, and from the very first bite, it was clear we were in for something special. Perfectly seared, the ahi was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a depth of flavor that was beautifully complemented by the accompanying sauce and seasoning.

Next, the Caprese salad arrived, and it was nothing short of perfection. The heirloom tomatoes were at peak ripeness, bursting with sweetness and acidity, while the fresh mozzarella was silky and delicate. A drizzle of balsamic reduction tied everything together, enhancing the natural flavors of this simple yet elegant dish.

The ribeye sandwich was an absolute standout. The steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—stacked on a beautifully toasted bun with just the right balance of toppings. Every bite was rich, savory, and deeply satisfying.

And then came dessert. The moment these decadent creations hit the table, they were devoured. Every bite was pure indulgence, from rich chocolate to delicate pastry, and it was clear that as much care and craftsmanship went into these sweet treats as into the rest of the menu.

Beyond the exceptional food, the warm and welcoming ambiance of The Blackboard Café makes it a must-visit. The cozy mountain-town setting, the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the dedication to scratch-made cuisine all combine to create an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is one spot you won’t want to miss.
