Been wanting to try this place for a while… so glad we finally decided too! Me and my husband absolutely LOVED it! Their fries were so fresh, crispy, and seasoned well.. sooo good. And the sandwiches were amazing!!! They use the best bread.. which in my opinion makes or breaks a sandwich. I love the fact they are a small family owned business. Makes it that much better. This will definitely be a staple for us moving forward. The people there are so nice as well :) SUPPORT SMALL FAMILY OWNED BUSINESSES!!

They have outstanding sandwiches. #18 is our favorite and is great as a salad, too, but you really can't go wrong. Everything is consistently delicious, high quality, and priced well!

My fiancé introduced me to A.S.S. when we started dating. One of the best places to get unique subs/sandwiches in the area. Great soups, chili and fries too. They cook fresh so prepare to wait. It’s worth it. Get some A.S.S. in your life.

For food, the quality of ingredients, especially meats & cheeses, puts Algonquin Sub Shop one distinctive notch above the bland corporate drag on Randall. The smoked gouda on my Smoke Stack and the melted cheesy beef was top notch. There's your choice of over twenty types of Italian style subs. At first bite, you can tell the sub rolls are baked fresh daily. There's that true Italian sub crunch of the pickle and lettuce. The subs hit the spot like torpedos. In terms of service, you're greeted warmly and called by name instead of the vacuous indifference of droids yelling numbers. This is what makes a beloved local business different from just another corporate franchise. As someone from Algonquin, I respect the fact this business has weathered 35 years of economic turbulence with their uncompromising commitment to quality and friendly Midwest service. Bottom line: premium sandwiches in an inauspicious, lower traffic location off IL route 31 instead of the roaring eight lanes of Randall. The atmosphere offers both indoor and outdoor seating and unique, seasonal decor, like a fun candy corn pumpkin turkey in the photo. Happy Fall y'all.

The sub I had was delicious, homemade, fresh ingredients... it's the type of sub sandwich I remember from childhood when things weren't so commercialized and everything tasted better. The staff was friendly and seemed to work well as a team. I really liked the outdoor seating in the summer months.

The memories will be endless in this sub shop. I used to ditch class to come here and grab lunch! The best sub shop around… fresh bread, high quality meat and cheese, crisp veggies… homemade soups and divine desserts! Their menu has something for everyone, even the pickiest eaters. This is one of the few remaining old school sub shops and it’s awesome that it’s in my town!

Food is good if you eat in. Take out and ordering online is always wrong. They don’t read notes EVER. When someone orders something on the side ITS FOR A REASON! It’s getting too expensive to eat out to not get what you ordered. Another $40 lunch I can’t eat.

The Algonquin Sub Shop is a gem in Algonquin. I have been coming here for years and I have never had a bad experience. If gourmet subs were a thing, it would be these artfully crafted subs. Love them!
