We eat a lot of sushi. I've probably been to about 50 different sushi restaurants in my life. This was the worst we have had. The fish tasted sour. My husband said the eel was old chewy rubber. Everything had a chemical taste. The saki was the strangest I've ever had. Do not get sushi here!

I am disappointed to see that in addition to charging me a 18% service fee, this restaurant asked for an additional 18-22% tip on the bottom of the bill. My bill was $210 in food and $266 after service fee and taxes. And would have been $313 after minimum tip. Thats over $100 in tax and service. We didn’t even sit at a cooking table.

Made a reservation for me and my two kids for a hibachi table. After getting situated at the table and placing our order, we were then instructed to sit at a non hibachi table since we didn’t order enough food. We ordered $60 worth of food (hibachi, udon noodles, and drinks). They picked up my children and our bags without my permission and moved us to a side table. Various families came in with less than us during the duration of our meal and were served at the habachi table. My children were disappointed and my heart broke for them watching the other families sit at the tables while we sat off to the side.

Pretty disappointing overall. Ordered crab Rangoon, shumai, miso soup, and a spicy tuna crunch roll for lunch.

The crab rangoon was extremely oily, and the breading was super chewy and tough.
The shumai was freezing cold in the middle still, not just room temp from the travel to me, but actually cold like it was frozen and not cooked through when heating up.
The roll had almost no actual crunchy pieces at all in it, it was 99% tuna and the tiny bits of crunch were soggy.

They also packaged the warm soup and food in the same bag on top of the sushi so that arrived warm, not ideal. Sushi should be in a different bag than the warm foods!

0 stars if I could. Will never give them any of my money ever again! Will let everybody I know to not go here! Charged me separate after I picked up my order $1.08 to add jalapenos to a Boston Roll! This is the first time ever and I've been ordering here for years. Completely unacceptable that you wouldn't let the customer know before just charging the extra money. For the amount of money that I had already spent including extra for a tiny half-filled cup of teriyaki sauce, extra for an extra dressing, and extra for spicy mayo! Aren't those enough up charges to just put the jalapenos in the Boston roll without charging!!!? If you want to upcharge on an ingredient then you should add it to the online ordering menu. Give the customer capability to see up front that it's $1.08 up charged add a little bit of jalapeno to a roll. I can get three full jalapenos at the store for that price! Terrible!

We went there on Father's Day for dinner, and the place was empty. There is no reason that I saw for this, but everything was great, and we had a hibachi table to ourselves.

I started with a SAKI-bomb.
My entree was the Steak and calamari hibachi and my server ALAN recommended a pot of HOT SAKI.
From the beginning to the end, this place will impress.

My husband and I have been to this location a handful of times. Last time the chef was minimally entertaining, and the staff we came into contact with desperately needs to learn their menu/tact. On the menu it indicates that hibachi dinner comes with salad, soup, rice, and ice cream. Apparently they just stopped offering the ice cream and act like they're doing you a favor when you ask about it. Also, I don't know when it happened, but within the last year or so, they significantly raised their prices (in some cases by almost $10). I'm sorry, but if I'm paying almost $40 for a hibachi filet mignon, I'll go to Kyoto in Crystal Lake where the chef is more engaged, the food is better, the seats are more comfortable and the ambiance is superior. (The wooden seats are so unbelievably uncomfortable, I was squirming in them before we even got our soup). Not to mention, I am absolutely certain that despite the prices they were charging, they were actually serving LESS fried rice and steak.
The server and chef definitely need to check their attitudes. When we ordered, the server questioned the order like we were insane (we ordered 2 sides), and we had to attempt to correct her multiple times because she just wasnt getting it, and when she (acted like) we did, she acted like we were insane. The server wrote the order down wrong and the chef gave the side to the wrong customer. When we asked about it, the chef seemed to get irritated with us about it. This was honestly the most bizarre experience I've ever had at this restaurant and I'll probably just go to Kyoto in Crystal Lake or Kobe in Lake Zurich in the future.

Everything was not that bad. It was my first time ever being there. The service was great until I got my bill. I only ordered a side steak and a side of fries. My mother ordered the same I'm a very picky eater, so I just decided to stick with what I know, when I told the server i only wanted steak and fries. She asked me about beef Fried Rice i was a little confused So I told her no I just wanted the fries on the side, she then proceeds to tell me that comes with it. So when the server comes, he serves us. Our food and he gives me rice noodles, vegetables, etc. I'm not thinking of anything of it. Mind you I've never been to an hibachi restaurant. I get my bill and it's over a $100. I asked my waiter why my bill was over a 100 dollars she told me that's what I ordered, and I repeatedly told her that wasn't what I ordered. I then asked for a manager. She tells me there's no manager there. And there was nothing she could do for me i'm not sure if there was a language barrier, or what but that was my first and last time ever going to an hibachi restaurant

Firstly, I wanted to go to Kyoto in Crystal Lake, but they were completwly booked, so we went here. The atmosphere here was not impressive. After walking in and we were greeted, I noticed a dried out & cracked little sitter - where no one would feel welcome to sit on. Then, we were seated and given plastic oversized plates and I had a fork, where one of the teeth was bent. The Server and waitress was decent - they tried their best to provide good cuatomer service. The Chef/cook was good, except for the fact that at some point during the presentation, he startimg squeezing liqid in peoples mouth and also pulled out a bottle craved as a boy peeing and starting wetting people with it - I thought this was very rude and killed my desire to be there. I had had enough at the point. Althought the Chef/cook was polite and friendly, I felt that the entire presentation could have been better. I will not eat here again.

Worst experience, took 20 minutes to get waters, in experienced cooks letting food burn leaves a bad taste on the palate not to mention the smell on your clothes. Soup tasted like tap water, tried to hide it with soy sauce but hard to do with a total of 4 little onion pieces in the entire soup. Rice had a few uncooked hard pieces, and filet was chewy. Lastly and this was the kicker, we ordered sushi and they said there was a few orders ahead of us and we said that’s fine, just bring out. Well, that hadn’t even started on it as I was begging for someone’s attention to get my check. It’s Jurin or Benihana from here on out. And to the folks calling this a phenomenal restaurant experience, you should try Jurin!!!!!

I saw the name, Kobe Japanese steakhouse and I thought oh that would be great to have some Kobe beef. So I started to peruse their menu only to find they did not have any Kobe beef on the menu at all. So I called the restaurant and they said sorry we don’t have any Kobe beef just fillet… Tell me what kind of a restaurant named themselves, Kobe, but doesn’t have any Kobe beef, hello!

Great food! We did the lunch special and added noodles! My son even enjoyed it and he was a picky eater. The staff was very patient as I was not aware of them closing at 2:30 after lunch. They were very nice. We will be back!
