I've been coming here since I was a kid. The food and service and vibe are always awesome. An absolutely iconic Algonquin spot!

Food and service was great!
We didn't like the fact that you can't dine in during the summer. We drove all the way out there (1 hour) to use a gift certificate, to find out there is only outside dining in the summer! It was hot, and if we are dropping $100.00+, I don't want to dine in the heat on patio furniture!!! We ended up going back home (1 hour), and returned in the fall for inside dining. You guys really need to rethink that ridiculous idea.

Food showed up cool. Service was slow. Melted butter was a petroleum based imitation. Tasted terrible. I'd go back there if they went back to real butter.

Food, service and atmosphere is amazing every time we come! The servers are so kind and shockingly the owner remembered my friend and I. 😊 we always have a great conversations with the team. The buffet was so flavorful! I would recommend it!
PS they have a wine tasting event which is a blast. I recommend both! 😊✨

The server was super rude. The steak tasted like it was frozen for years. Also waited an hr for the food and when asked the server she said “well that’s how a restaurant is supposed to be”, then gave my party a lot of attitude, restaurant was empty. First time I went was good but is horrible now. Don’t waste your money or time.

We live in Aurora, so it takes at least an hour to get there...with no traffic. Hadn't been there in 25 years. So worth the drive! Everything was great!

Special brunches on special days. So much food you can not sample all. Came with Champaign too!

We just got done with their Thanksgiving buffet and we totally enjoyed it. Did not taste anything I did not think was great. The end of the meal was an amazing bread pudding (something I don’t normally eat) The service was fantastic and they were very attentive. Will definitely be back.

I thought with the name Port Edwards thete would be more fish entree options. Atmosphere needs updating. I found the atmosphere to be dreary and mundane

Has gone downhill, unfortunately. There is a reason there was only 1 other table of 2 around Noon on the weekend. The food was subpar at best. Their guacamole is just cut up avocados with what looked like store bought pico mixed in. Tasted fine but nothing special. The mussels were broken and most inedible. The broth tasted like water with a ton of garlic added, not your typical sauce. The calamari was so chewy, we couldn't eat it - the entire plate was untouched except 2 pieces we tried. The butter for the bread had a 'unique' taste, almost a freezer burnt taste. Our group barely ate any of the apps and we left to go someplace else to eat lunch. Our bill for barely eating anything was outrageous for the quality of the food.
Drinks were good and the staff was very nice. I hope the quality of food gets better because Port Edwards used to be such a great place.
Kid-friendliness: They had a kids menu.

We just stopped by here after kids have a trick or treat in Old town Algonquin. I ordered fried Oyster in hoping to still get a taste of oyster while pregnant, however this is what we got, 5% oyster and 95% breaded. It’s disgusting, if only we are not in a hurry I would have asked for the fresh one instead. We won’t be ever coming back here again , our food came and we don’t have our plates and utensils yet. My husband ordered the Port Burger and asked for Mayonnaise , it never came. Such a waste of money.
