So we’ve been to Thumka before. Even when it was located in Hoffman Estates, the food was always decent. This time we ordered because they finally had Korma on the menu and that’s my wife’s favorite dish. It was literally one of the worst Indian meals we’ve had the naan was chewy and undercooked. My chicken tikka masala did not taste like chicken tikka masala. It was runny and odd tasting no seasoning. The chicken was dry as you could make chicken. like It had been sitting out or cooking for days. My wife’s korma was stringy and overly spicy which korma should never be. They’ll get one more chance from us, but it looks like they might lose the Indian rotation in our dietary menu. I would just hate for someone in the suburbs first experience with Indian food be what we just had.

Just placed a order worth $ 110 too too salty every item butter chicken, raita bro it’s biting ur in side daal Tarak and iam glad they missed garlic naan, chickpea and butter naan might just pass this food should have lasted me till tomorrow as Iam stuck hear for two days such a waste
But the manager is very professional and soft spoken but the real reason is the food quality it just sucks!!
I tried their butter chicken and garlic naan and it was absolutely amazing! The chicken had such rich, delicious flavor, and the naan was perfect. I honestly regret not ordering more. I also had the chance to meet both owners, and they were super friendly and extremely welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu!

Brüh, this made me sad. This place used to be consistently awesome, until the last couple times. This was the last straw. We had a good run with them. Looking for recommendations on a new place.
Love ordering from Thumkas. Started off ordering for online indian takeout after moving to the area to try to find a good Indian food spot. Especially for when I'm craving home flavors, I wasn't finding anything I clicked with until Thumkas. I've ordered a number of times for just my family and a few catering orders. Everyone always loves the food.
Most of the dishes are great. Vindaloo, butter chicken, biryani, chicken tikka never fail to disappoint. The samosas are always a hit. And naan is great. There's a few dishes that aren't my cup of tea or how I would make them at home so I don't order them often. But for when I don't want to cook and really need to fix a craving, Thumkas is one of my go-to's.
The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is good. I think most people order to go, but it's nice when I pop in to order in-person and see a few people eating at the restaurant.

My first visit was in March with a bunch of friends to celebrate my birthday. We have all become regulars ever since. My friend Rachel and I were just there again this past Saturday. The friendly staff makes you feel like family. The food is a labor of love. My go to is the mango curry chicken. The sweetness of the mango is the perfect counterpoint to the heat from the curry leaving it perfectly balanced. The chicken is tender and delicious. I like to get garlic naan & rice to dip in the excess curry sauce as to not miss a drop. This restaurant is the best. Nuff said.

Amazing food, always amazing service! One of my favorite places to take people who aren't sure what they want to eat, or who have never eaten there before. Absolutely my favorite place to eat!

One of the worst Indian food I’ve tried in all of Chicagoland area. I ordered Paneer tikka masala, Kheer and butter naan and the quality so poor. The curry was very bland, it was watery tomato taste and no spices or taste at all. The panner tasted so synthetic and chewy, most probably a frozen curry. The naan was very doughy and undercooked. I could see the raw dough in the layers of naan. The Kheer was abysmal. It was rice in sugar water basically. I couldn’t even eat two bites of whole meal. I’ll never be going back to this place.

Was really hopeful with this place as there isn’t any Indian restaurants in this area less then 20min.
Ordered the butter chicken thinking this has to to be a no brainer. Sauce tasted like a can version out of the store. The chicken tasted microwaved. You know that metallic taste when you microwave leftover chicken.
The naan was the only redeemable thing here

I don’t write reviews often, but this time I was disappointed. Ordered Grubhub this evening, it was butter chicken, chicken tikki masala , rice , naan and rice pudding. I already tried it in so many Indian restaurants in US and Canada, so I have something to compare it to. Usually butter chicken is thick and it’s nice and easy to dip naan. But here it’s so watery like a soup and it didn’t have flavour to it. The same with chicken tikki masala and rice pudding. Naan was ok
Even my husband who is not picky at all, didn’t like it, that says a lot.
