Chicken is good but not always hot. The fries are never hot. I get sides elsewhere and get fast Eddie's chicken

I'm almost 40 and I've been eating here my entire life. Everything I've ever gotten from here has been good. Their ice-cream and shakes are some of the best around. For a large cone under 2 bucks, it cannot be beat. Their fried chicken is phenomenal. Over the last couple years Their chicken tenders have went down hill. They used to be super crispy and great. Now sometimes I get them and they're chewy/rubbery and the breading is soggy. Seems like some of the chicken stays around in their warming table for way too long. The service is NEVER fast but it's almost never slow either. The only negative about this spot is its actual location. It's right in the middle of the ghetto and you're going to see it. Being asked for money or having a crackhead talk to you isn't an uncommon occurrence. All that said, this is a great spot to grab some food on the run.

What a shame me and my mom ate there everyday for lunch almost sometimes twice for dinner too. Since Kathy's nieces or nephews took it over they quit using Jones fresh chicken now the chicken is got a slimy liquid when you bite into it they changed to all cheaper food the oil they use to fry stuff stinks so bad you have too keep your windows down until it gets out of your car. Fast Eddie's Fried chicken was a landmark in Alton we were there at lunch time and it was easy to get a parking space in my opinion they will stay open for a litter while until someone opens a really good chicken shack. I don't know how the people eat that maybe I will open one and feature my great grandmothers fried chicken recipe every Sunday people came as far as Springfield too eat her chicken . If I decide to to do I will let you know I think it's sad the only good chicken around here is moonlight now. You can ask your Kathy we ate there everyday you can't fool me and the people that use to work there when I asked what was wrong with the chicken they told me. Now I didn't know your still using Jones but it's not the same fresh never frozen chicken that Kat used the workers did tell me that when I asked what was wrong with the chicken, it's just not Fast Eddie's Fried chicken anymore. And I threw that away before I left the parking lot I wouldn't leave that in my car.

Haven't been here in years. But the price has increased and the food has dropped in quality.
The chicken was dry and fries were lukewarm. I doubt if I will eat here again. May be good for the Alton folks, but not for me. Used to be a good place for fast bite.

Parking: Just pull up

Great little hole in the wall, so to speak, place. The chicken was small but very good. Well worth the price. Chicken livers were great too. Gonna try their gizzards next time.
