First, let's talk about the man behind the counter, Jimmy Angelo Boukas. At 84, he's a living testament to dedication and passion and a source of inspiration. He gets up early every day to cook and serve, and his commitment is truly awe-inspiring!

Secondly, the unique charm of this place makes me want to return. The owner does all the cooking from scratch. Yes indeed —pancakes, gravy, and biscuits are made with his hands. His uncle founded this diner in 1910, and he upheld the tradition of offering exceptional food and service! This extraordinary man served our country as a Green Beret during conflict, so he’s also a hero—another reason to support this business. This incredible individual has been married to his bride for over 60 years. He also constructed his impressive 2600-square-foot home entirely from the ground up, showcasing his exceptional building skills. Thus, he does it all!

The owner and his son, Angelo, are amazing people. G-B Grill is an extraordinary place with awesome food that takes you back to the good old days. As a final note, he even mistook me for my daughter's sister, so you can better believe I’ll be back again and again! ?“

“Passing through the area at lunch time, hungry for local fish, I found Podner's and got their catfish nuggets and fries. Yum!! The ladies who served me were very kind. The place isn't fancy, but sometimes the best food is served in a humble atmosphere. Thank you, ladies, so much!“

“I was a bit skeptical about making a purchase because their parking lot is always empty. But I said let's chance it and upon placing order and waiting the customers started to arrive. It seems as though everyone placed their order and left, so that would explain the empty parking lot. Conversated with someone I knew from the local roller skating rink and order was completed in a timely manner, say 20 minutes. I ordered the catfish & wing platter, which was surprisingly tasteful, I liked the wings the best, (seasoned well) while the catfish seemed more like tilapia but overall the meal was satisfying and came with bread, fries, pickles and onions. Overall I believe that I will make a return visit just to try out different menu items because it's close to home. I also liked the fact that it was clean and roomy.“
