This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Alton/Godfrey area. The food here is fantastic. Everything. I've been many times and often with large family groups. The owners are friendly and down-to earth people. Margaritas, all flavors, are super tasty and have alcohol in them :) It's my favorite place to eat in Alton.

My first experience with them was at an event I was doing. It impressed me so much that I made arrangements to be able to order for the company I work for. Everything was excellent. They were on time I was not but that was not a problem. This is my second experience with them doing catering and I would highly recommend them every single time. The quantity of food was amazing and the flavors were absolutely to die for. I recommend them highly if you're going to do any kind of catering. I look forward to actually going into the restaurant and enjoying a meal as well. Excellent service. Just excellent.

Tried out Taqueria Maya for the first time for lunch. Margarita was delicious. Food was good. However I had to chug the margarita and box up the food due to the swarm of fruit flies/beer gnats swarming me and my food/drink during the winter. I hope they can fix that issue. May try to visit again.

I am on my 3rd time here and it is truly delicious food!!! My daughter thinks they have the best birria, and I’ve absolutely loved their tacos, breakfast burrito and the street corn. It’s worth it! They do make the food fresh, so don’t be in a hurry. Youve gotta try it!

I have always ordered on door dash and it’s always amazing but I was able to eat in tonight and boy did it go beyond my expectations! The food is amazing and HOT and FRESH! The staff is so sweet just going the extra mile to make sure your experience there is great. 10/10 will be back!!!

Service and atmosphere was great ordered the new ribeye tacos plate and it was garbage definitely was not ribeye one tiny strip of something that kind of looked like beef jerky but tougher not chopped or seasoned and a thick strip of mozzarella cheese for some reason thought it was supposed to be queso fresco cheese just really expensive and disappointing
Taqueria Maya hosted a fantastic private party at their convenient uptown/College Avenue location. The food and service was exceptional! The staff set up a nacho/taco buffet with meats, cheeses, veggies and then some! All we brought were the desserts. They provided cold drinks and bussed the tables while we enjoyed a delicious meal. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. We were thoroughly impressed with the food and their hospitality, and highly recommend them for your next celebration!

We had our son's engagement party here and it was a hit with our 35 family and friends. The food was fantastic and the margaritas were plentiful. We could have easily had another 10-15 guests with plenty of seating. They closed the restaurant for our party, which was so nice. We were able to come in and decorate an hour before the event. Cindy and Jocelyn were extremely helpful and friendly - even with a crowd wanting more margaritas. Lol. We ordered the premium package and kept a bar tab. Simple. Our son goes to school at the Dental School next door and he and his friends would do lunch at Taqueria Maya in year 1 and 2. It was a special place. So glad we had it. Check out our photos. The fireplace has existing hooks to hand a banner for making a perfect photo booth. Thank you. We will gladly recommend your business.
