I got the Veggie Naan sandwich with red pepper hummus delivered. It was so delicious! I am a very picky vegetarian. This sandwich is FIRE! So good! Was so happy to see a real vegetarian option and not the typical junk other restaurants offer as vegetarian meals. Highly recommend! Wow what a delicious lunch - everyone loved their food. We got the ultimate grilled cheese with lobster bisque, Italian meatloaf sandwich and the club sandwich. Only able to go at the end of the week of our vacation, wish we could have gone a 2nd time.

Brown Bag Bistro is the best!
It’s almost always my families pick when we go to lunch in Alton. I’ve eaten around the menu & everything is soooo good! My ultimate favorite is the Bistro Club. Such a great sandwich ever. single. time.
I recently was helping plan a 30th birthday and needed a charcuterie board and immediately thought of Brown Bag for it. From start to finish Chris and the whole team were wonderful. The board was so good & we ate every last piece. Needless to say it was the talk of the party.
Highly recommend if you need catering for a party or need a great spot to eat in Alton!

The bistro is the best lunch spot in the Alton area. Great owner, atmosphere and food. Highly recommend.
We were driving through town on business and were blessed to be able to stop there both on the way and back. Very cute little cafe with excellent staff. I chose the chicken salad because I am a chicken salad freak and it is the best chicken salad I have ever had. I begged the cook to sell me the recipe so I could make it at home in Wisconsin but no luck. Just have to find a reason to drive 5 hours to get another fix. Great place!!!!

Military friendly, a big plus! Great atmosphere with a nice terraced patio area! Twenty-three years ago, I had a halibut sandwich at the Alaska state fair that I swore could never be equaled until I had the Stuffed Sicilian sandwich today! Simply the best conceptualized and executed sandwich I've ever had! And the crab bisque, amazing! I can die happy! Ok, a little overly dramatic, I know, but you get the idea! My wife, who's a granny, had the granny gobbler and just raved about it! She said the potato chips were a little pedestrian, but no big deal! Ever go to a restaurant and look at every choice and wanted to say 'yes!' This is the place for you!
