We dined in.Very cozy, great food and service! Reasonably priced!
Food was surprisingly delicious. Service was a little slow but hot when I'm t arrived. Atmospheric was somewhat eclectic, but we enjoyed everything.
Let me start with saying KID FRIENDLY. We have found our new dinner place. Everyone local knows how limited we are for in-town dining. King Neptunes has a menu unlike anyone else in town. They have something for everyone and have always welcomed our entire family with great service, top notch food, and an amazing atmosphere!

When we got there Saturday night, the place was dead, when I was expecting it to be hopping. There was no live music as I figured there would be according to their FB page. We were waited on by a nice young lady and we ordered a bowl of crawfish etoufee to share. I should’ve known this was their signature dish since it was a part of several dishes, and it did not disappoint. However, that was the bright point of the experience. I had heard they had scratch made, authentic Cajun options, so I assumed anything I ordered would be good. I chose the Cajun shrimp basket with high expectations, since I am a shrimp connoisseur, and I got fries and onion rings with it. It arrived without the hush puppies the menu claimed it came with and so I requested those to be brought out. At first glance I was highly disappointed as my meal looked like something straight out of Walmart’s freezer section. The shrimp looked exactly like the frozen popcorn shrimp I buy at the market, and frankly, so did the fries and onion rings. I tried a shrimp and confirmed that it tasted exactly like frozen popcorn shrimp, not the large, spicy battered authentic shrimp I expected. The shrimp had no noticeable spice either. I tried an onion ring and it tasted exactly like Nathan’s beer battered frozen onion rings I get at the market. The combination of the two bites left me with a bitter aftertaste like they were cooked in old oil. I didn’t even try the fries at that point, and I sent the meal back. A few minutes later, my hush puppies arrived (LOL) and I said I’d rather not eat them at this point. I ate a little more of the etouffe and left highly unsatisfied. Maybe we came on a bad night but I will never know because for the steep prices, I won’t be coming back to try again.
