Carlos & Carlos Restaurant

I ordered veal Carlos and loved it, good size and reasonably priced. My husband tried white fish and he also loved it. Complimentary bread comes out warm and fresh and tasty, it comes with butter and olives in oil
Highly recommend this restaurant . We are definitely going back

I recently visited and had a bit of a mixed experience. On the one hand, the food was absolutely fantastic. However, the service was a different story. Despite the restaurant not being overly busy, the staff seemed inattentive and slow. It took quite a while just to get seated, and even longer for someone to take our order. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get the servers attention for simple requests, like straw or extra napkins. Unfortunately, this really put a damper on what could have been a great dining experience. Hopefully, theyll improve their service in the future, as the food alone is worth returning for

This was our first time at this location. We had visited the Wilmette restaurant before. So, we knew the food was going to be great. And, we were right! I had one of the specials. It was crab stuffed prawns over linguine with a vodka sauce and it was amazing. My husband had ravioli and a side of meatballs. He said they were the best meatballs he has ever had. We would definitely come back to this restaurant!

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening. The service was extremely poor and we were there for an excessive amount of time. Most staff do not speak English , only the hostess. We needed to get up a few times and ask the hostess for bread and our drinks. People around us were complaining as well. Nobody checked in with us after we sat down and after 20 minutes we went inquired and finally a random person took our order and never came back until the bill was due. The entire experience was frustrating and many times we thought about walking out. There was a Hispanic person who arrived after us received exceptional service and the staff who he said he didn’t know stopped by his table just to talk. He received prompt drinks and food. He was obnoxious and intoxicated. Unfortunately the restaurant was very short staffed and could mot keep up with the demand. They were sweating and running around. Disgusting. Too bad because the food was very very good. Good size portions. Not sure if we would ever return only to have poor service again.

We showed up for a 7pm reservation and did not get seated for another 20 min. Once we ordered, the food took about an hour to come and the waiters did not check in on us. Once they dropped off the bill, nobody came back to pick up my card so I had to walk in and get their attention so we can pay and leave. We will not be coming back.

The wait for the food is over an hour. The drinks are terrible water down. The service is so slow. I feel like I’m in the post office.

There service is terrible and food is average at best for premium prices. We wanted to give them more business then they wanted, but they never came around to ask if we wanted more drinks or how our food was. Had to walk inside to get the bill following 30 minutes of waiting after our server acknowldged our request for the bill. Would not return as there are many other options in Arlington Heights that just do it better.

Our dinner was good but service was more than lacking. Our bus boy paid more attention to us than our server. Our table was located in the path of the door the servers used to service guests outside. The constant blast of heat was uncomfortable.

Waited over 75 minutes to get dinner while other tables were served and left who arrived after us. No apologies and lame excuse.

We originally had reservations at another restaurant, decided last minute we wanted Italian. Very interesting menu with the regulars but also some new versions of old Italian classics. We sat outside to enjoy the weather. The service was great, food fantastic and we will dine there again

I had the worst experience at Carlos and Carlos. My pasta was inedible and had to literally spit it out in my napkin. Our server (Pedro) who was extremely rude came back and saw my entire plate full because it was that bad. I told him I did not like it and he kept asking me why- I told him multiple times I didn’t like the taste and handed him the dish.

Another serve came back out and brought me back the pasta. Once again- I went through the same conversation with him and he kept asking me why I didn’t like it.

Yep, you guessed a third server came back out with the pasta again and I also had to go through the same ordeal.

Lastly, the manager came and spoke with us and I explained to him that I wasn’t even looking to get the meal take off the bill- I just did not want the food -period-. He finally understood because I had to show him my spit up food in my napkin.

This was unacceptable behavior and horrible service. This is not how you treat a customer and the fact that it took 3 servers and a manager to understand that I did not like the my meal was ridiculous.
