Nothing fancy at or about Johnnie's beef and I mean that in a good way. The menu is simple, the food is great and the price is right. They have some of the best beefs around, and their pepper and egg Fridays is nothin to sneeze at either. Give em a try, you won't be disappointed.

I used it to come here more often when I was working in the area and I thought it was one of that best beef in Chicago, but in my recent visit a couple days ago, was disapointed. I had the beef sandwich and my wife had the beef sausage combo bowl, for both there was no sliced beef at all. It was all trimmings like ground beef and salty

Wow. My family and friends been stopping here for over 30 years now. The beef is great the Tamale are better than some of the bigger stops not to say any names. Johnny's also got Italian ICES..

Has a hot dog that was rancid. Asked for well done fries. The were cold. For the price I would go elsewhere

Elmwood Park location has better fries but the beef and sausage at both are the best.

Service is not so nice as the staff dont really look like they want to serve you or say anything to you when you walk in it feels like you are being served by lunch in jail in a way no point intended. The food is good though! ????

Im a picky Italian beef person and this did not hit home. The beef was flavored but was way too greasy and ruined the sandwich. Way too much juice and oil bread was soggy and fell apart. I got hot peppers and it was ok. Its jarred giardiniera and hard to mess up. The fries were undercooked. The Italian ice is the only saving grace and it the best I have had. This alone was 5 star but due to the small menu and quality of food it went down to 3. Service was fast very fast. You can get hot dogs, Italian sausage, beef, fries (no cheese fries) peppers and egg, tuna, and that about it. I will come here for the Italian ice well worth it.
