Best omakase menu in the suburbs.
The staff and the environment were perfect but the food had seriously flaws. Some of the rice was undercooked, the pieces of sashimi were unacceptably small/thin. The appetizers were our favorite, creative and delicious.
Great with gluten-free menu options
Amazing restaurant. I’m not the one to give out 5 star reviews easily but this place deserves it. My recommendation is to order everything!
We selected the sushi restaurant based on Google reviews and were pleasantly surprised by how good it turned out to be. We enjoyed five types of sushi, miso soup, and an asparagus and mango salad. Everything was delicious.
We had a wonderful dinner at Kaido and will definitely return. The sushi was fresh and flavor combinations delicious. The tamago was a nice surprise. Glad to know there is a genuine sushi restaurant close by.
Really loved our experience at Kaido. The vibe is chill but upscale, and the interior is beautifully done. I especially appreciated how comfortable the chairs were at the sushi bar, it made a difference!
We ordered a bunch of different dishes, and everything was delicious. The hand rolls were a standout, super fresh fish and really well made. Some of the dishes had unique flavors you don’t usually find elsewhere, which was a nice surprise.
You can tell the chef/owner is very hands-on, and the sushi chefs were quick, our food came out fast and looked amazing. The service was also top-notch. The servers were super attentive, constantly checking in, refilling water, and clearing empty plates without us even asking. Everything just felt effortless on our end.
Also, random detail, we loved the plates they use. Just really thoughtfully done all around. Definitely planning to come back.
Food, service and atmosphere is amazing. Omakase experience is worth it. Wine list is pretty good. Old fashion was also delicious.
For this gem to be hiding in a strip mall is criminal. I think if this place was in a stand alone location with ample seating and parking, it would still be just as packed as it is now. Every dish was to die for. If I could afford to eat here on the regular, I would.
I will say that Kaido is doing something that not enough people are paying attention to. I was fortunate to experience something new in a cuisine I have been accustom my entire life and I very rarely am impressed. That being said the $92 Omakase is worth the price. Apperizers are a whirlwind of creativity and yet still preserves and respect the origin of sushi while pushing the boundries just enough to make it unique and standout. Thanks for an amazing first 2 meals for me this week. Will be back for more.

Amazing and authentic!
The staff and food at Kaido were fantastic! One of the top sushi spots in the area and we'll definitely be back.
Highlight of the meal had to be the Tamargo hands-down, some of the best of ever. All of the rolls were excellent as well, I particularly liked the premium veggie moki & Zuke Sake Nigiri.
Service was outstanding vibe, It was immaculate.
Oh also, the soups were outstanding!!!!!
I had a small issue with my order but Ms. Judy address my concerns and took good care of me.
Will likely be hitting this place up next time I’m in Chicago for work!
