We went to Madurai Kitchen in a hot summer day around 5:45pm for a Coffee and snacks. There was no AC in the restaurant. No one bothers. When asked the waitress mentioned AC is in maintenance. If so, Hello Resultant owners, please put a board that AC is not working. You are not reducing your menu price when the environment is bad. We were sweating like hell in your restaurant. Then we ordered Vegetable pakoda. But it was just hard onion and cabbage pakoda. No real vegetable was there. Your filter coffee was good though. But it was really a bad sweaty evening. Service was good. No complain. This was a good restaurant few years back. Seems like owners of these Indian restaurants are keep changing and they are not able to maintain the quality and reputation. Not going back to this restaurant again.

We’ve had their catering services for a 40th birthday last week and thought we should try their South Indian food since we liked the catered food. As soon as you walk in, you get hit with this smell that will make your hair clothes and everything smell once you’re done your meal. We were greeted by the host, server, & cleaning crew. Maybe they aren’t too busy so they keep one person. We sat down and were offered their buffet or order a la carte from the menu on the table with the QR code. We couldn’t even touch that menu. It was filthy dirty with food stains as if someone ate with their hands and touched the menu to look at it. The water glasses were steel glasses which is fine but there was no table covering and the glasses were placed upside down. We know all restaurants wipe down tables with a rag and we were not going to drink out of cups placed lip side down on t the table. Maybe they should place paper table liners on the table if they want to do this or bring out glasses later on. It was just too congested and ew feeling so we left and went to our normal place of South Indian dining which is MUCH MUCH cleaner - Annapurna.

The host did try her best to keep us and offered to clean the menu and give bottled water but the front of a restaurant will tell you how the back of the restaurant is… no thanks.

I had the best biryani from here and the worst too.
The best i would say is talapagattu for sure, but unfortunately it’s available only during weekends

Disappointed with Portion Sizes Lately

I’ve been a regular customer here and have always enjoyed the flavors and authenticity of the food. However, I’ve noticed a significant drop in portion sizes recently, especially compared to what used to be served earlier. For the prices charged, the quantity now feels inadequate and not as value-for-money as before.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and returns to the generous portions that once made this place a favorite. Good food deserves good quantity too!

Place is small and service is slow due to large crowd and small workforce, but to be honest I love the food here it’s the best till now I had around Chicago suburbs
