MAGO - Arlington Heights Reviews
We went to Mago in Barrington last night for the first time and were blown away. They were very busy so we sat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. Food was terrific and the menu features things you won’t find at your standard Mexican restaurant like three choices of mole. Tableside guacamole is absolutely lovely. I have to say, though, what made our experience was watching the magnificent bartender. His efficiency, speed, and obvious dedication to what he was doing was...read full review
Weak drinks and horrible service
The food is fantastic. The mole sauces are to die for (sshh don’t tell my mom i said that). The table side guacamole is a must do. I look forward to eating my way through the rest of the menu.

Mago is an amazing restaurant with outstanding food, drinks, and hospitality. The atmosphere is fun, making it the perfect place for any kind of celebration, from a 40th birthday party to a surprise 70th birthday for a large intergenerational Desi family group. The servers are very friendly and attentive, with specific mentions of Maria Lena and Juan providing unmatched attention. The guacamole is prepared fresh right in front of you and is delicious, especially when made with pomegranate. Highly recommended menu items include the coco bongo margarita, the carne asada, the bacon wrapped shrimp, and the Ropa Vieja, which features tender and flavorful beef with plantains. The Lychee-licious cocktail is fruity and refreshing. There are also five different kinds of moles, all tasty, which can be tried with a choice of protein. For larger groups, there are tons of options for vegetarian guests. The service is fantastic, with staff accommodating requests like holding a table for a surprise. It is recommended to get a reservation, especially on busy days like Cinco de Mayo when a mariachi band serenades guests.
