September 21 This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The food tasted like something from a cheap diner, even the tacos were disappointing. The only decent part of the meal was the guacamole and the complimentary chips with salsa. The drinks were just as bad — my mango margarita tasted like someone had simply mixed juice with alcohol. Absolutely no flavor or balance. What really ruined the evening, however, was the waiter, who was also the bartender. His rude and dismissive attitude was absolutely unacceptable. He acted as if serving us was a burden, yet still expected a tip for his terrible service. Because of this unprofessional and arrogant waiter/bartender, we will never come back to this restaurant, and we will be sure to share this experience with friends and acquaintances so they don't waste their time here either.

“The atmosphere was nice and the drinks were good. We were hoping to end the evening with coffee and dessert, but were surprised to learn they didn't have coffee — something I usually expect at a restaurant. The chips had great flavor, though they were a bit on the greasy side, and one of us even had oil drip onto her blouse. Overall, we enjoyed parts of the experience, but there are a couple of areas that could be improved.”

We won't go to Mago unless we can sit outside. The noise level inside is awful. Food is usually good. The guacamole was awesome! My husband had a chicken dish and was not impressed. Service is usually good; however, for this visit, it was very mediocre. Waitor was more friendly with his colleagues than he was with us. Significant change in demeanor. I'm sorry we interrupted his collegial banter.

We loved sitting outside and enoying the warm weather and delicious food! The margarita was prepared well and the three salsas are always a big hit! Enchiladas were tasty!

The server and manager were very nice and accommodating.. The fresh guacamole was great. I would highly recommend this resturant.

Good food ~ good service ~ we had a table of 6 inside ~ it was not really that crowded ~ but very hard to hear when trying to have a conversation that the whole table could be included in. But, that being said ~ definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit.

I had ordered the taco salad with steak but was brought with ground beef. Then the salad was super soggy. The meal had no taste and I did not enjoy it at all. I told the waiter and he told the manager who apologized and took it off the bill. Did not expect that but was pleasantly surprised and pleased.

I only had cocktails here, but you cannot complete a review without indicating you had food. The cocktails were over priced and the bartender was very pushy about selling a second round.

As usual, a great experience. Greeted warmly, service and food was good as usual. It's a pleasure to be treated as a welcome guest.

Service was slow to start but terrific after that. Food was great. Tables and menu's were very sticky and felt dirty which detracted from our otherwise positive experience.

The original table they gave us was near a very noisy group. We moved to a different table which was somewhat better. Service could have been better. Food was generally good.

Took a while to get waters / be greeted, but after that hiccup, it was all fine. Food was delicious.

We ate outside this time and had a wonderful meal. Our server was great! Sometimes a bit noisy inside.

Charged 5 dollars for raw vegetables which we did NOT order! Didn't take off charge! That was ridiculous! We wanted all red peppers no green!! Also a 3% surcharge not told about!

We celebrate every Cinco de Mayo, which also happens to be my sister's birthday, at Mago in Arlington Heights. We always enjoy ourselves there, and this year was no exception. After being seated, our server took our drink Orders and brought us thin, crispy chips accompanied by three delicious homemade salsas. Next we ordered guacamole, which was prepared table-side with tomatoes, onions, Chiles, cilantro, and just the right amount of heat. Our entrees included sumptuous chicken enchiladas in a tangy salsa verde, tender and juicy carne asada, and a flavorful shrimp dish served in a delicious buttery sauce. Dessert consisted of sweet crispy churros served in a miniature cart with two ice cream cups and two sauces. Everything was delicious, and was served up by friendly, attentive staff. The tradition continues and we are already looking forward to our next meal at Mago's!
