We've been going to Rokbonkis for about 25 years and just love it. I live in Arizona now, but every time I come to Chicago, I have to go to Rokbonki's, especially for their fried rice with egg sauce; it's the bomb!, as is all the other food!! Entertainment is great as well.

72nd birthday for my mother w family. Not like any experience I had w old owner's! Chef lost control of spatula and hit my mom w sause on it! My wife ordered asparagus beef rolls for dinner that came out as beef chunks w no asparagus! Ordered that for dinner not as appetizer. She said dinner but was out before food cooking for table. No one wants to eat by themselve. Also food wasn't right! Also ran out of asparagus so beef chunks are not asparagus beef rolls! Chef didn't cook correctly. One protein at a time and over cooked scalaps that were like quarter size thin. I got a ribey steak thinner than a skirt steak that was marble with fat which is fine but asked for med rare and he cut through the raw fat and served it to me!! Had to cut it all off myself. Place since the new owner's has turned into a dump! I haven't been there in about 15 years but tried to get just carry out since new owners and couldn't due to under staffing. Unless they get there act together it wasn't worth the money I spent there at all!!! Didn't even help out w the bill throwing a spatula w hot grease at my mother on her birthday ?. Don't go there!! Not worth it! Go to Ron of Japan in Northbrook or Benihana in Schaumburg. Very disappointed ?

We come here at least once a year for a birthday and it's always one of the best things I've eaten all year. I've been coming here for at least 20 years.

I recently visited Rokbonki Stakehouse, and unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the lack of cleanliness. While the food may have been decent, the condition of the restaurant itself left much to be desired.
Upon entering, I noticed the floors were sticky and the tables had not been properly cleaned between customers. The restrooms were also in a poor state, with visible dirt and grime. This is concerning, especially for a place serving food.
A clean and sanitary environment is crucial for any dining establishment. I hope the management addresses these issues quickly, as they have the potential to overshadow what could otherwise be a good dining experience.

Bit of an odor when we entered. Food was extraordinarily good. Cook was nice, pretty typical hibachi entertainment. Drink service was prompt. Got pretty smoky in the room. Table appeared burnt and vent hood didn't seem to be working.

Always fantastic! We have been coming here since 1989 and they never disappoint.
Dietary restrictions: Chef made sure to make all parts of meal for friend with allergies so her food wasn’t crossed with anything she was allergic to. Very accommodating.

Like in a usual hibachi grill, the cooking was always fun and entertaining. But the food was good but not really tasty. It was flavored with soy sauce and oyster sauce and thats it. We drove 10 miles to come here and try their food. I would say it was the on the spot cooking that made the experience.

Have been a customer since the late 1980’s. The egg yolk sauce on Tokyo shrimp has changed what use to be a glowing orange color is now a pale yellow. It is flavorless and the chef said they have new guys making it.
New owners are going too cheap on important plus’s that made the old Ronkbonki stand out.
This is why old restaurants go out of business.
