Teriyaki chicken with chicken breast was such a turn off. With ingredients like this, the lunch was overpriced.
I’ve lived in Japan for 10 years and I am ecstatic to find a real Japanese set meal provider which doesn’t compromise on food quality or jack up prices unreasonably. This is a true home away from home in the Chicago area. Food is true to tastes in Japan and once again, the prices are very reasonably set. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

A legit Japanese restaurant near Mitsuwa. If this place were closer to where I live, I would go here more often. It's the best Japanese home meal I've had in the Chicago area.

This place is great; fast and delicious. It's at the end of a random strip mall so you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking.

This has been on my list for awhile and one day I decided to try. It’s located in a strip mall with lots of parking. When you go inside, they have a sufficient amount of tables to sit at, but it wasn’t very busy on a Saturday night. You order at the register and he brings it out to you. You’ll have to be patient, they don’t have a lot of staff. We ordered tako karaage (fried octopus), croquettes, Taiwan style tonkotsu ramen with 2 pieces of chashu, and the deluxe bento with butashoga (ginger pork). I had a bite of the pork and it was delicious. Ginger was not overpowering. Tender meat. Prices were very affordable and cheap. Service was great and he brought out our food hot and freshly made. I would definitely come back and try other items.
-tako karaage 5 - it had a nice little chew and was not overly fried. Great taste.
-croquettes 5 - I loved these. When you bite into them, they’re soft. Flavorful, savory filling inside. I should have gotten more of these.
-Taiwan style tonkotsu ramen 5 - noodles were chewy. Bountiful amount of ground pork. The two chashu pieces were tender and easy to break apart. Broth was not heavy, it was just right.

Awesome food!!! It reminds me of the neighborhood restaurants when I worked in Japan. Food was affordable and nutritious. There are plenty of veggies for the bentos. <3 The bonus is getting to order house-made desserts. :p~~

This restaurant offers incredibly affordable Japanese cuisine including bentos, ramen, dons, and sides. The authentic flavors create an experience akin to dining in Japan, without the forced tipping. Katsu Don (3/5) average Pork cutlet and egg bowl.Spicy Stamina Ramen (3/5). Miso Negi Chashu Ramen (4/5) Exceptionally flavorful for just $10.95, saltier but better than even specialized ramen spots in Chicago.Side: Chikuzen Ni (5/5) A steal at $4, includes a healthy mix of carrots, bamboo shoots, lotus slices, and mushrooms.

This place is awesome, to put it lightly. Food is always fresh, the daily specials are on point, and the main guy behind the counter is chill. If I lived by here I’d probably come at least once a week.
