Ordering through this restaurant is an introvert's dream. You mainly order through a kiosk and I was able to customize my order to my liking. Looking back, I wish I had added more curry to my dish.I got the chicken katsu curry w/ extra rice, 10 gyoza on the side to share and a water bottle. Food was fantastic and I actually took home leftovers, (which were fantastic leftovers btw). I spent about 30 bucks on my food, however you're near Chicago, so what do you expect?Others complained about wait time, however I came with a group of people, so it worked out as I was able to locate a table while I waited for my food. The kiosk also asked for my phone number so to text me with my order number and to tell me when it was ready.

I got the popular spicy pork on rice BUT the pork tastes gamey and a little too salty. There's after taste. So I'm not a fan. I know it's not the restaurant but the actual meat. So sad and unfortunate.

Located inside mitsuwas and gets super busy so hard to find place to sit down and eat. I usually order the garlic pork bowl and order it online which is way faster. Good hearty meal. My go to here.

It was a series of emotions with Sutadonya.Overall food prices have gone up everywhere, so a $16 rice bowl seems to be on par with most places. The booth is empty, so you're left with a self service machine. I don't hate this, honestly, it's fine for me and the machine works smoothly and easily, just feels a bit cold.I get a text notifying me of the order, but as I'm working on my phone mindlessly for prob 10 minutes I look up to see a tray of food has been sitting there. Possibly, long enough for the chicken to get cold. Not sure why there's no notification. Even the ramen shop next door announced numbers, no text?!?Anyway, I was feeling a bit mad, but the big bowl of curry sauce was warm and sitting on top a nice big piece chicken cutlet soothed some of the wounds. It comes in a take-away plastic bowl, which at first is not very eco-friendly, but portions were big that I didn't feel forced to finish either and packed it away. Now, I can't be mad.Next day lunch, it reheated very nicely, even the chicken was crispy and juicy, and I'm happy again.Such a wave of ups and downs, not sure how I feel overall, thank goodness the food was GOOD!

Came from the south side to buy a bowl. Sign said it was closed until 11:30. It was 11:40. Walked up to a worker telling me they were closed and refused

Imagine i ordered rice curry, it is literally rice and curry sauce for $11, no meat whatsoever. To the owner, the shop next to Santhouka serves exactly the same menu. I did not pay attention after I had a very disappointing lunch at your place.

Sutadonya is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants; when we lived in Ikebukuro, we got takeout from there a couple times a month. The prices are higher than what I'm used to but are fair for the US market. The karaage bowl is deceptively filling, because even though there's only three, each piece is huge. It's probably equivalent to the 8-9 piece bowl I always get in Japan, and it's still got the perfect texture -- crispy outside, juicy inside. The only thing I'm missing is the sauce. I don't know if Americans are just weak or they don't want the recipe crossing an ocean, but I desperately want their house soy garlic sauce because whatever they're using here doesn't give me the kick in the tongue that I'm craving. (I would also buy bottles of that stuff, nudge nudge, wink wink.)

This place is always a must for my daughter and I. We LOVE coming here to get the fried rice and miso soup. Service is great and the food is fresh. Service is great. Give it a try, it will not disappoint.

Uhhh? The yakisoba I just ordered didn’t say there was meat in it and there’s so much meat more than noodles… I’m vegetarian and I’m very disappointed. Waste of $17

The food court was busy so I did expect a wait, but not a 40 minute wait. At the 35 minute mark, I received my food. Thankfully I noticed that the gyoza I ordered were burnt on the bottom and refused them at the counter. Why put bad food in the package if you can clearly see the black crust on it??? The pork bowl was cold and the spicy garlic pork was just okay, nothing special. The manager seems to care, but no one else working there did. The girl at the counter was wearing a crop top, and that's just not acceptable around food. Super disappointed with the $42 (I tipped ahead of time, poor decision on my part) I wasted on this instead of trying somewhere else.

I ordered the garlic pork bowl with the soft boiled egg. This was my first time at Sutadonya. I feel for the size of the bowl they really left a lot of room for more food to be added but didn't bother to fill it up all the way. I was disappointed in the serving size. The pork was a little undercooked for my liking, but the dish was ok. I'd come to Sutadonya again but try something else. Their menu is large and it was hard to decide what I wanted to order initially.
