This place is adorable! The coffee was great and the quiche was good but I'd get something else next time. Such a relaxing place.

This is my go to spot when in hungry for lunch or a delicious treat! The owner is incredibly kind person, it's a pleasure to come in! All their deserts are out of this world, it's a gem in Arlington Heights!

This place is such a hidden gem that I don’t want to share it with anyone, but I will because this place is truly so special you need to experience it to see.The Bakester is a beautiful cafe with a lovely European feel inside. I place my order at the front register with the owner or other staff. Her cafe latte is the perfect combination of milk and espresso. I also like her teas! I always order a quiche, if there are any left when I show up. My go-to is the spinach and cheese. The mushroom and Swiss is absolutely delicious and that’s is my favorite! I also get one of her fluffy, buttery croissants. If you dine in, like me, they will bring your order out to you in tea cups and coffee cups with saucers. The food is beautifully plated and service is great.I’ve never had anything bad at The Bakester and don’t ever think I will. I’m looking forward to doing high tea one day when finger sandwiches and works!Parking: Free parking on the street and there’s a lot nearby too

What a fabulous and beautiful coffee shop. Each suburb needs one of these. The cappuccino was perfect, not bitter and not too much milk with lots of frost. We also enjoyed a scone and an apricot and cherry tart which were so yummy. The decor is very welcoming. A very lovely place that I’m looking forward to visiting again and hopefully soon.

Tried this place for my daughter who came home for short spring break. It was a great experience as the ambiance set up is pretty cool for an afternoon tea. The food is ok for the price you pay but the service is slower than expected. They missed serving us a portion of the bake goods. We had to asked! Otherwise a one time experience is enough for the price.

Very charming owner and the surroundings are lovely!! The food is excellent. Relaxed elegance. My favorite Arlington Heights spot.

We took our almost 4 year old for princess tea. She was so excited, and on best behavior! Our server treated her like a grown up, and let her pick her own tea and everything! Every sip and every bite was delicious. My husband and I were beyond impressed by the whole experience, and will be going back - with adults only this time!

I'm afraid to let this little treasure out of the closet because it's so darn adorable and I'm afraid I won't ever get an open table after this rave review! The Bakester is THE MOST DARLING coffee/tea/pastry shop you may ever find in the northwest burbs! To begin with the shop isn't mega chain size, but big enough so that you can have nice conversations without the people at the next table hearing every work, but it's small enough to give that nice cozy, quaint feeling. The wall is lined with beautiful tea pots and cups, tiered crystal trays begging for pastries to be rested on them, and touches of flowers - but not so overly "feminine" to keep guys away. You place your order at the register and if you choose to dine in, they'll bring your order to you. It'll arrive in a pretty china cup with saucer. If you order something to eat, you'll get it on a real plate with silverware. Tea will be served with a teapot. It's all very elegant. The ladies working there are so patient and kind. The owner always has a bright smile on her face and she's such a delightful person to chat with. Everything is made there fresh in-house and you can smell the warm, baked smell as soon as you walk in. The bakery selection has something for everyone, including a quiche or two and there are also sandwiches made with their flakey, buttery croissants. They also offer High Tea which I can't wait to try!

The Bakester is a lovely and beautifully decorated shop filled with scrumptious carefully and thoughtfully prepared food and desserts. It is like a petite vacation when we stop in there and we know we are going to find a special treat forpur taste buds. They have a lovely assortment of beverages that will satisfy just about everyone. My go to happy place. The service is always pleasant and is accompanied by a smile.

Went here for a girls day. The food was fantastic! We did the afternoon tea with cucumber sandwiches, scones, macaroons, and of course tea. The scones with raspberry preserves and clotted cream were particularly delicious. The owner was especially helpful and friendly. She even brought out an extra selection of green teas for us which we appreciated. Already planning to come back with my husband!

Had a lovely experience having afternoon tea at The Bakester this past week. Pretty space, friendly service, and delicious food and tea. You select your tea from the containers they have... it's all tea bags. They then bring you a silver pot of tea. You can have a second kind as well. Sandwiches are larger than most tea sandwiches but all were delicious so was happy for the bigger sizes. You also get two large scones (with jam and cream), a macaron and cookie, and generous slice of a European dessert. Definitely worth the visit! I'll be back!

The ambiance is nice, and the staff even nicer. The food here is FANTASTIC and freshly baked, my favorite thing thing was the cranberry scone. I'll be back, and soon (this time for the afternoon tea)

This place was a huge disappointment. “High Tea” is far from what is served here. Literally waited 20 minutes for water or tea, tea was Republic of Tea tea bags, not loose tea, which is ridiculous for a place charging almost $50 per person. Sandwiches were lackluster and for anyone with allergies, they are not well equipped to adapt. Service was abominable, not sure if a couple people called in sick but we sat there with tea and waters empty and filled our own cups with pitchers nearby. Our dirty plates were never cleared before “dessert” was brought out. Scones were triple the normal size but just ok, and one guest in our party who was lactose free got dry, pre-packaged, day-old flaky pastry which was inedible. Upon looking at our filthy table our server asked if we wanted clean plates for our dessert-terrible service for the price tag! Bathroom door didn’t lock, so we took turns “guarding” for each other to ensure privacy. Overall will never return and wish I could get my money back. Skip this place if you value quality food and service.

A lovely room that serves good food and great baked goods. The owner has created an oasis of sophistication that is always worth a visit. Service is frustratingly spotty. Don't let that stop you from dropping by. The Bakester is worth a visit.

Feels like I step in for afternoon tea. This place has a European vibe with the classy plates and decors. We got a few different choice for teas (unlimited) for the Duchess High Tea options. This included tomatoes soup, spinach and cheddar quiche, cucumber sandwiches, smoke salmon sandwich, turkey on a croissant, scones, pies and French macaroons. The pastries was delicious. The scones was definitely my favorite. It was nice and soft. The cream and berry persevere was delicious and accent the scones flavor perfectly. Our waiter was super nice and refilled our water glasses and tea cups without having us asking. It's definitely a cute place for afternoon tea with some girlfriends.
