Our Southern Kitchen

All the food we had was great and it was a big party of 12. The portions are enormous and they could probably cut them in half and still charge the same amount.

I personally had the dirty bird and it was great. All of my kids enjoyed theirs as well.

Would come back for sure if we were in the area again. Service was great.

The only negative thing here was arrival. I wrote to them a few weeks in advance as the family wanted me to set up a place for breakfast and its for 11-12 people. I know you need to make a reservation or something to prep them. When we got there (the first 5 of us) on time, they seemed unsure about it and didn't have a table ready and then said to get back to them when everyone shows up. BUT, right after that they did put the tables together and sat us right before everyone showed up. I'm glad it wasn't that crowded at the time as this would have been a wildly different review if we would have had 12 people standing around for an hour.

Really wanted to try Southern Kitchen but felt sick after just reading about the green moldy toast. Sorry, can't do it.

Have come multiple times and they always have good food with generous portions and plenty of options. Great service and friendly staff.

Max was an outstanding server. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and patient, and he made sure every question I had was answered clearly. He checked in at the right times, offered helpful suggestions, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. His positive attitude and professionalism truly stood out and made our visit better.

I’ve came to this place a couple of times and everytime I do the service is always exceptional. Today my servers name was Zima and it was also my birthday. She took care of us from the time we walked in until we left. I highly recommended stopping by here if you’re looking for a like home cooked meal on top of friendly service

Always have a delicious breakfast and get leftovers out of it! Love that there are build your own and vegetarian menu options. The pancakes are perfect and huge!

Despite good food, this place has fallen short on service and attention to details both times I’ve visited. Service is lack luster and food is not prepared as asked on either visit. An uncomplicated request such as omitting tomato from an omelette or preparing a dish with egg whites should not be a difficult task to complete, however Southern Kitchen can’t achieve either. When mentioning the errors, the corrections are made as if it’s an inconvenience and no apologies offered. Wait staff is not friendly despite trying to engage them in conversation and did not follow up on basic service like refills or checking for other needs. I would not recommend this restaurant, there are far better places with servers who act like they want to be at their jobs and staff that gets your order correct.

Great service and atmosphere, excellent food.

My friend and I returned to Southern Kitchen after a great first experience, but unfortunately this visit fell far below expectations. We travel quite a distance to dine here, and we usually order extra food to take home. When we placed our order, our server commented, “Wow, that’s a lot of food.”—which felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable.

For the second time, the omelet was not made as ordered. While the food selection and flavors are generally good, this visit raised some concerns. The biggest issue was finding an eyelash in the grits. Instead of an apology or acknowledgment, the only response we received was, “Do you want another one?”which didn’t feel like the appropriate level of care for a situation involving food safety. The item was removed from the bill, but you could have at least pretended to care.

On top of that, the check was dropped off without asking if we wanted another drink or needed anything else.

Overall, the food has potential, but the inconsistent service and lack of attention to guest experience made this visit very disappointing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as we truly wanted this to become one of our monthly breakfast spot.
