They serve some of the best homemade down home southern cooking. The fried mushrooms are to die for.

Parking: Plenty of parking space with the gravel parking lot surrounding the building. Just off the main drag in Ava Illinois.

Kid-friendliness: They offer a kid menu section.

Wheelchair accessibility: They are wheelchair accessible it's just a slight bump over the entrance of the doorway but plenty wide to fit even an extra large wheelchair through.

Dined here with my sister.
Both lunches were delivered to our table with service from a knowledgeable waitress.
She knew the menu and answered our questions.

Best burger I've had in awhile! Beef was fresh, onion straws were freshly made. Just all around impressed with the taste.

As a retired jet engine mechanic, I've eaten breakfast at about every WH, Denny's, IHop, Mom, and pops. And it took the small country town of Ava to hit the home run. It was amazingly delicious. Veggies and eggs from farmer Bubba just down the holler. I mean, the picture speaks for itself. Semper Fi God and country?????

Old-man and coffee type of diner.
As a youngish alt dressing person I got some stares. That's pretty normal.

Good cup of coffee, and a nice crowd. They make the gravy from scratch and they have lots of pie.

I'll be back a few more times.

I drove here from New Carlisle, IN, to, among other things, try Brunzeez fried mushrooms. I was intrigued by their mushrooms because they resemble the best fried mushrooms I have ever had at a Carbondale restaurant no longer in business. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint!!! These are a little bigger, a little more moist and not quite as seasoned as the others but they hit the spot! If the others were a 10, these are a solid 9.2. I will be back!!!(Fork only shown for scale.)
