“It's a really magical place! Located in the woods, it consists from several wooden buildings and wooden tents. It has fireplace outside for customers. They brew their beer in this place from foraged ingredients or from ingredients from their garden, their goats. Ask Chris to tell you everything about the foraging and making beers, he is very helpful! You can find wild thyme growing between old stone walls (add it to your pizza ??) and passion fruits vines which they also use for their Maypop beer. Take samples of snifters because it's just impossible to choose which one is your favorite!”
“Well, either your navigator knows this place or your Navigation System is taking you here - regardless, it's worth the country road drive! The lake house, party environment is evident from the approaching signage, the marquis, and their exterior pit stop location indicators. Their interior theme flows, with your first stop at the ordering window, then to the cashier/drink station where the choices range from canned drinks (solo cup and ice available for refined needs) to the local Muddy Root Beer or the fully stocked selection. Our group shared their Alaskan and Catfish baskets with me (trading offered but not accepted, thankfully). I found my taste buds favored the alphabet, Alaskan, Blue Gill, the Catfish selections. Definitely, do NOT overlook the smaller slaw dish - hand made indication from my oil & vinegar combination/mixture. I opted to skip the frog leg options as well as their token souvenir selections also. I truly enjoyed my blue gill basket and crinkle fries. As for my four, I tried the Joe Chips (see other descriptions, not just mine) but found these not as appealing as their crinkle fries; consistency rang in both crinkle baskets as my Joe Chips varied greatly where pockets of perfection drenched with inferior stacks abound. What made the difference for me - their sauces Joe's Sauce and their ranch blend. The Portobello Mushroom Appetizer paired with their ranch was awesome - served piping HOT (temp-wise). The Joe Sauce contains a bit of a hidden/after kick but not over powering for my taste buds.I'm told the summer months here get swamped with lake attire and four-wheeler groups. When I visited, a small retirement celebration initiated their orders. The Crazy Joe's Crew handled their normal crowd and the celebration group with ease. You should really listen as the wait staff delivery team isn't always heard above the crowd volume. DEFINITELY SPEAK UP or yell BINGO, maybe raise hands & waive. Luckily, honestly prevails and our appetizer made it intact to our table. Helping the crew bus your table keeps things moving along but there are PLENTY of paper towels available if your predecessors missed a few spots.Double check the hours and bring cash. My only question: why not incorporate the (red/color) solo cups for pins colada drinks instead of the (seemingly breakable) glassware? Thanks for taking care of our planet & my appetite, Crazy Joe's!!Wheelchair accessibility: Can be challenging but most do drop off regardless, as parking is country style.”
“I drove here from New Carlisle, IN, to, among other things, try Brunzeez fried mushrooms. I was intrigued by their mushrooms because they resemble the best fried mushrooms I have ever had at a Carbondale restaurant no longer in business. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint!!! These are a little bigger, a little more moist and not quite as seasoned as the others but they hit the spot! If the others were a 10, these are a solid 9.2. I will be back!!!(Fork only shown for scale.)”
“The owners are some of the nicest people you'd ever meet. The bar is very clean. Theres normally music on weekends & bigger bands on the beer garden/ patio. Theres a variety of music instead of only one genre. Its not a snooty bar or a ruff bar, its perfect & welcoming to everyone.”
“I've been going to this bar and grill for 20+ years and they have always had great food, great service, and it's a great place to hang out and drink after hours! Only issue is that it's kinda small but we are a small town so it's not a big problem for sure!Parking: On street right in front of and right behind in the alley room for more cars than people lol ?”
“Such a cute little coffee shop! I stopped by when traveling through the area for the first time. They offer a variety of flavors and coffee and I was so grateful to see a lot of sugar-free flavors, too! I also got a bacon egg and cheese croissant and it is one of the best I’ve ever had. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely stop again!”
“Food always delicious! Love the cheese sauce over other local Mexican places, as well as their in house salsa. Service is family and locals that are always ready to serve with a happy attitude. I have loved having their family there! It changed the whole feel of the restaurant and shows you who this is for and why they do what they do.”
“This place is the best pizza restaurant around southern Illinois. When I was a kid, I'd come here and play pool with my friends, and unknowingly my future Husband, and eat some awesome pizza. Now that I'm a mother, we try to get dinner from here atleast once a month, or more. The owners are so sweet, and grateful for their customers. The wings, are great. The homemade icecream is amazing. When you come inside, it doesn't feel like a restaurant, it feels like home.”

“Nice little bar with good burgers and great crinkle cut friesI'm handicapped and the restroom was very small.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to enter but restroom is very small”

“Ive never had any problems in here. I've never not had a good time in here. The beer is always cold and they have Live gaming along with pool table, darts and a jukebox. Nice place to have a good time”
“Slamming Sammies is about the only dressed down eatery at The Greenbrier, but don’t let that fool you. The food is awesome. My wife had brisket nachos and they were awesome. I had the wings, which were huge! And DON’T miss the fried vinegar potato chips. They’re a must do!”
“First time trying, took the family here for dinner. Everything was good. I had the special dinner. Definitely worth trying. Everything is priced fair. Will go back.”
“Stayed at the Longbranch Lodge for 4 and a half days recently, and it was brilliant. The place is very spacious, very clean, and fully equipped to handle a family of 8-10 at least. The owners are such nice folks, and the bar they run steps away, was equally impressive. All the girls behind the bar were very kind and super nice. First night in on a Thursday, the Saloon had free pool, which kept me out until 2am, and the following Saturday the place had some Rockin live music.** Side Note **I left a couple tee shirts in one of the dressers, and without hesitation, they sent me my clothes swiftly. Great people. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat, look no further.”
