“What a quaint local diner type. Owner helping and such a great friendly feel. So many options and daily specials! The service was delightful we will be regulars here for sure! Nice size omelette too!”
“This is a small local pizza place with the look and feeling of a old-time diner. The staff was very friendly, service was quick, and WOW, the "cheese bread" was enormous ... basically, a large cheese pizza! :-) My wife and I split the cheese bread, and shared a large pizza, and brought home enough leftovers for us each to have another meal a day or two later. Pricing was fair, too. We recommend Whiffle Boy's Pizza !”
“Great atmosphere for a quick snack, warm coffee or hardy lunch. Good for individuals or families. The interior is bright and inviting giving the older building a great new look. Just wish Faye' was in my hometown!!”
“As much as I love how affordable this place is, I've gotta be honest. The meat tastes very odd at times. There's just something about the ribs. Either they're old, or they're from some seriously beaten down pigs. Maybe the ribs are frozen for a very, very, very long time before being cooked. Now, if you're down to drench the meat in crazy amounts of sauce, which is easy to do because it is crazy how cheap the joint is, you'll hardly notice. But I really do wonder what exactly is making the meat taste so odd.”
“Online menu prices outdated, but it was still affordable and delicious. Service was great even though it was very busy. Definitely going back.Parking: Departing lots of cars which is a good sign. It means good food.”
“This place is amazingly good. The service was great, and the food is delicious! Will definitely be coming back. If you leave this place hungry its your own fault!!”
“Five people in our party. Each ordered something different -- Two items with marinara sauce, two with alfredo and one with pesto. All five were impressed. In addition to being delicious, portion sizes required take home leftovers and spent $20 each including tip. I would describe the decor as upscale casual. Also, seemed very clean. In short, nothing but good. We will definitely return.”
“Great selection of Brews, great merch and always friendly. Thanks Chuck!Big Muddy Brewing planted their roots in Murphysboro, Illinois in 2009 and are open on the weekends for tastings and tours, offering up small batches of craft brews for the true enthusiast. Favorites include the popular Pumpkin Smasher, which is brewed using real pumpkins and savory pumpkin pie spices giving hints of natural cinnamon and nutmeg, and the Vanilla Stout, a traditional Milk Stout infused with pure Madagascar vanilla.”
“Nice outdoor evening concert. Lots of people, kids. Don't forget your lawn chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor was fine and they had drink service outside. Entry 5o building and bathrooms did not accommodate a wheel chair. Don't know if there was an alternative 3ntrance that did.”
“Incredibly impressive and delicious house made beers, very welcoming and comfortable environment in a cool old building! Glad I came by during my visit from out of town.”
“Attention local folks, if you have coupons, don't go to Carbondale West main location!!!!!! No sooner than I pulled up to the drive thru, the first thing they yelled was, "We are a private franchise and we don't accept Any type coupons no matter where they come from" my response: "See Ya don't wanna be ya"!!!!???The murphysboro, Illinois location is the fastest, friendliest, location, and they do accept coupons!!!! Good Luck at other locations”
“First time trying, took the family here for dinner. Everything was good. I had the special dinner. Definitely worth trying. Everything is priced fair. Will go back.”
“I have smoked hundreds of #s of pork shoulder and eaten my weight in it as well traveling on business. 17th Street pulled pork sandwich today was as good as any I have ever had. Perfectly moist and smokey, the bun was fresh with a generous portion of pork. The ribs have the perfect smoke with the expert tug off the bone texture. The brisket, cut from the flat, is moist, tender, smokey, excellent work!!I'm a fan of fried pickle spears over chips due to the high pickle to batter ratio. These pickle chips have a high pickle to batter ratio so they pass.Speaking of eating my weight on something, their bread pudding is the best! Even the sauce is perfect. The bread pudding is so good, I would drive here just for dessert!!Nachos also great, not mind blowing but still excellent. We tried all the sauces and all are worth taking home, which we did.I am so pleased to see 17th Street is still working at Championship level. Strong work, we'll be back!!”
“Whoever does the hiring is genius. The staff is always friendly, fast and efficient. Especially during extremely busy times! Excellent food! Can't go wrong at DQ in Murphysboro.”
“We chose St. Nick for an Easter Brunch. It was great, from biscuits and gravy to steak and eggs a delicious, well made and presented meal. Service was spot on and seamless. We also enjoyed interesting decor as well as a view of an active flight line. Go take well behaved kids and enjoy”
