“A jewel in Carbondale! Love so much about this place: the cozy but sophisticated atmosphere, the efficient and friendly service, the focus on local ingredients and innovative dishes. Highly recommend the best salad and the giant pretzel as appetizers. Great cocktails and beer selection.Hope to come again if we're in Carbondale.”
“Veteran ran winery with great music, wine, and selection of craft beers. Had the opportunity to see the eclipse here in April of 2024. The service and atmosphere are above and beyond.”
“I have visited here four times and it has always been an enjoyable experience. Lately, the service is a bit lacking, but that may be residual from the covid lockdown. They are missing some wines they used to have that I loved, which they did not replace with anything similar. The tables are very close together so that you are obligated to talk to your neighbors- perhaps that is part of the ambiance? However, people have to move their tables over to let others move from their seats when they go to the bathroom or leave for the evening. It seems excessive. The prices are high enough that they could remove some seats for their visitors to be comfortable.”
“I highly recommend the hibachi steak and shrimp. We also got an amazing Makanda specialty roll and a California sushi roll. Also, highly recommended is the Plumb sake.”
“They have some awesome tasting food and healthy options, that a lone will make me go back. LOVE the Paleo salad had it twice once the steak was way too tough but the 2nd time was great. Came in for Prime Rib and my waiter Robert was awesome attentive he connected with you, was Personal and funny all of which i appreciate! Pictured is Brussell Sprout appetizer, a root veggie casserole, wet spinach!”
“Not a bad winery, grapes are grown on the premises. The wines were a miss for me, I did not care for them. David, the owner and our wine tasting host, is very knowledgeable and friendly. The winery is quaint and cute.”
“We went with friends before a recital at SIU and it was so good. The folks there are kind and the vibe of the place is relaxed and fun. We look forward to our next trip!Kid-friendliness: Everyone is welcome and feels welcomedWheelchair accessibility: It’s all on one floor.”
“I really like the pizza. I could eat it for every meal. But the customer experience here is often not great. My spouse recently went to pick up a pizza we'd ordered over the phone. He waited in the parking lot for 20 minutes, knowing that's how long it takes to make the pizza, before heading into the drive through. When he arrived at the drive through window, they told him just a minute, then proceeded to ignore him as he tried to get anyone's attention for another 20 minutes. My pizza was cold and my spouse was pissed. I should have asked for a refund. A drive-through is supposed to be there to make the dining experience faster and more convenient. Don't have one if you're going to blow off your customers. Also, they have a $4 upcharge for salads if you want to take them to go, which is genuinely insane. When I've asked about this I was told it's because people were overfilling salads from the salad bar when taking out... which... if people are taking too much salad, just give them a smaller container?? I could understand a 50¢ upcharge, sure, but $4?? That's egregious.”
“Employees where very helpful and I've also done deliver pick up from here and the staff has always been very pleasant and helpful would definitely recommend this place for ”
“My husband, Scott, and I stopped by here while visiting the area over Christmas weekend. A fabulous, friendly and personalized experience. We sampled the beer, rum, whiskey and brandy and purchased the 49/51 corn/rye whiskey and 110 proof Brandy. Yum! The owner was very knowledgeable and we greatly enjoyed chatting with him. A special thank you for the delicious persimmon brandy.”
