“Martel’s was great! We ordered a large supreme pizza and bbq wings - both were delicious. Staff were friendly and took care of us. We walked to the restaurant from the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Will definitely go back next time we’re in the area.“
“Five people in our party. Each ordered something different -- Two items with marinara sauce, two with alfredo and one with pesto. All five were impressed. In addition to being delicious, portion sizes required take home leftovers and spent $20 each including tip. I would describe the decor as upscale casual. Also, seemed very clean. In short, nothing but good. We will definitely return.“
“What even is this? Oh, it's "cheese sticks". This isn't the first time either. I'm done paying for burnt bread.Edit: Mark took care of my concerns and is working to correct the ship at this location and acknowledged reaching out to say hey we messed it up and are remaking it for you would've been a lot better than just delivering it anyways. [Which I agree, I would've been completely fine with that and waiting a few more minutes, that's very understandable!]“
“Came for pizza after watching the eclipse and the poor place was getting obliterated. There were so many people but the staff was friendly and was working hard to get it done. The pizza wasn't my favorite but I'm picky and it's definitely me not them. I loved bringing home the cups as souvenirs.“
“The food is always amazing here. I recommend the chicken parmesan sandwich and the Italian sandwich. The pizza is awesome, too! Also, we have had a delivery driver a few times who is always super happy and gives great smiles. Thanks for the great food and great service!“
“Been visiting Pag's for almost 40 years and I'm astonished at the consistency of their pizza over 4 decades. Always great service and food - kudos to the management staff and all the hundreds of SIU students that have worked there to keep Pag's as one of the best pizza spots in the midwest!!“
“Micheal and I believe a man named Julian around 5 P.M. helped me carry a catering order to the front of my car of 3 large and heavy boxes, 3 large bags, and 7 boxes half the size of the large catering boxes. My car was packed to the fullest. I told them I would let them know how the night turned out. Well, I not only delivered this order to a wedding held in Herrin Illinois, but had to carry most of the items myself, and was not tipped or offered anything by anybody. The trip was worth 11 dollars. I am a man on dialysis so walking and energy is troublesome for me. Thank you both, Micheal And Julian for helping me when you did. You may have had to, but you could have chosen not to and if there was tips involved, they should go to you two as well.“
“I love primos and I'm pissed that the one in energy closed down. But thankful that Carbondale is still open. I love the pizza bowls without the crust. Don't need or want all the carbs. Please bring a new one back somewhere I don't like Newbys Pizza.“
“I really like the pizza. I could eat it for every meal. But the customer experience here is often not great. My spouse recently went to pick up a pizza we'd ordered over the phone. He waited in the parking lot for 20 minutes, knowing that's how long it takes to make the pizza, before heading into the drive through. When he arrived at the drive through window, they told him just a minute, then proceeded to ignore him as he tried to get anyone's attention for another 20 minutes. My pizza was cold and my spouse was pissed. I should have asked for a refund. A drive-through is supposed to be there to make the dining experience faster and more convenient. Don't have one if you're going to blow off your customers. Also, they have a $4 upcharge for salads if you want to take them to go, which is genuinely insane. When I've asked about this I was told it's because people were overfilling salads from the salad bar when taking out... which... if people are taking too much salad, just give them a smaller container?? I could understand a 50¢ upcharge, sure, but $4?? That's egregious.“
“This is a small local pizza place with the look and feeling of a old-time diner. The staff was very friendly, service was quick, and WOW, the "cheese bread" was enormous ... basically, a large cheese pizza! :-) My wife and I split the cheese bread, and shared a large pizza, and brought home enough leftovers for us each to have another meal a day or two later. Pricing was fair, too. We recommend Whiffle Boy's Pizza !“
