I drove here from New Carlisle, IN, to, among other things, try Brunzeez fried mushrooms. I was intrigued by their mushrooms because they resemble the best fried mushrooms I have ever had at a Carbondale restaurant no longer in business. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint!!! These are a little bigger, a little more moist and not quite as seasoned as the others but they hit the spot! If the others were a 10, these are a solid 9.2. 01/27/2024Our waitress was an absolute delight. Very friendly, the service was fantastic. A great small town restaurant with a hometown feel.The hand breaded fried mushrooms are deliciously perfect and came with the house ranch for dipping. I will say they are the best fried mushrooms I have ever gotten from a restaurant. Pictured is a full order, I could not finish them all so brought some home for later. I decided on the 8oz hand pattied hamburger which came on a buttered and grilled bun. All of which was cooked to perfection. This place is a southern Illinois gem. I am a definite fan and look forward to trying their other menu items. I wish I would have had room for dessert because the pastries I saw looked amazing. They also had a large selection of pies listed.

Brown gravy in the chicken bowl was full of tiny RED hairs will never go back! Whoever the ginger was working in the kitchen clearly shedding on mfers food.gave us a refund but tried to say it’s just the gravy? Since when do you put ginger pubes in gravy!! Check yo gravy!

Fantastic country style mom and pop restaurant. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious I definitely recommend there desserts especially the apple cobbler would highly recommend.

It was my first time here, and it was pretty crowded for a place in a small town. I had a Harvest Salad and it was a lovely summer salad. Everything looked good as it passed by our table. Whatever you do, be sure to order the fried mushrooms. I'll be back!

Online hours state open till 5:00 on Saturday and when we got there at 3:20 they were closed. Sign on window stated new hours. Online hours should be updated if that's the case. We drove 45 to eat there. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

AFTER waiting 10 min. i walked out. They were busy but not so busy that a waitress could not have at least said they would be with me in a bit. They had time to stop for several ninutes and talk to each other. I will not go back.
