Went a second time to Scratch Pastificio, and even though I can't eat most of their delicious homemade pastas because they contain dairy, I was able to eat the shank ragu and am happy to report that the pasta is great.

Atmosphere was great, although it was very loud despite not being super crowded. Service was fine - although I typically think that plate clearing should wait until all diners have finished that course.Food was underwhelming. I had high hopes for it, but everything just lacked depth - needed salt or acid or heat or all of it!We started with the polenta fries, they were cooked nicely, but under seasoned. We also had the focaccia, which also felt like it lacked flavor. We also had the pork belly. One piece of the pork belly was extremely salty, the rest were under seasoned. It was served over risotto, which was under seasoned.The best part of the meal was the Caesar salad. I would recommend the salad.For our pasta we got: spaghetti carbonara, my son enjoyed it. Rigatoni vodka which lacked some depth HOWEVER, I will give this one a pass because it was for a kid and we did ask them to hold the spice and hold the cheese topping. The last two dishes were the fazzoletti and there was just NO depth to it. I had high hopes for the onion bechamel, but it was almost flavorless. The black garlic Demi tasted like super sweet barbecue sauce. Overall, not an enjoyable flavor combination. Finally the linguine with shrimp. Shrimp was very nicely marinated and full of flavor, although that is where the flavor ended. Like everything else, lacked salt, acid, heat.I don’t think we will return as it was such a disappointment. We had high hopes given that we really like the sister restaurant Neoteca.

The decor is simple yet inviting, creating a perfect backdrop for a meal that promises to impress. The service here stands out as well, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who really add to the dining experience.As for the food, it's absolutely fantastic. Every dish seems to be crafted with care and high-quality ingredients, which makes the slightly higher price point well worth it. I highly recommend wrapping up your meal with the Panna Cotta or the Lemon Tiramisu — both desserts are a delightful way to finish off a great dining experience.Thumbs up to Scratch Pastifico! Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. Don't miss out on their desserts, especially the Lemon Tiramisu!

I write this review with great sadness. My local book club tried this restaurant when it was new. As it was tonight, the food is excellent. On our first visit, we asked the manager about the noise level. It was very hard to hear each other. We were told that plans were in the works to put sound absorbing panels on the ceiling. Another visit, noise level still bad. Tonight, TGIF, we made a 7pm reservation and planned to celebrate with cocktails and good food. We found a lively group at the bar and had to yell across the table. Instead of celebration after a long week, we quickly ate our meal and felt incredible stress. We spoke to Nick the manager who pointed out the sound absorption panels on the ceiling. He admitted they hadn't worked and agreed the noise echoing off the bar was excessive. The group at the bar would have been fine in virtually any other restaurant. Nick mentioned the owner was aware. The food was outstanding. I hope the owner will take this noise issue seriously. The 4 tables near the front/window would easily be improved with room divider screens at a low cost The screens could be moved or removed during quieter times. It's a shame that the most important aspects of great food and good service were undermined by an intolerable atmosphere. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
