They’re always busy when I go - but that’s a good problem! I’ve never been disappointed by what I’ve chosen to eat. The only thing I didn’t like was their biscuit basket. I expected the biscuits to be softer.

We stop for eggs and bacon. We loved the the restaurant decor. It used to be a home from the late 1800's. They are know there Bonuts.

We recently moved into the area and had a wonderful experience at Southern Belles. The atmosphere was very relaxing and had a homey feel. All the staff members we encountered were incredibly sweet and attentive, ensuring that we had a pleasant dining experience. The food was delicious, and the portions were quite generous for us. We visited on a Monday late morning, so the place was not very crowded, and we were seated promptly. Will become a regular here. Also liked there is public parking right across the street. From someone's that lived downtown Chicago The free parking is a treat!! Ha!

Nice restaurant, good food, great service. My only complaint is the exhaust fan in the men's washroom was filthy, that left me wondering what else could be dirty.

Parking: No problem parking

Kid-friendliness: Kids are no problem, definitely a good spot for them

I used to love this restaurant fantastic food great service. The past three times we’ve come here service was very slow, and the last time on Monday 10/14/2024, we waited 40 minutes for our food and everything was cold like it was sitting in the window. The manager was nice and knocked $18 off the bill but. The catfish sandwich was inedible. If you’re stopping here for your lunch hour, you will be late getting back to work. I’m going to take a break from eating here for about a month and see if they get things fixed. I will repost at that point.

Go here!! I’ve tried almost every breakfast joint in a 15 mile radius and this is one of the best. Plenty of free parking around the area. More interesting brunch choices than just your standard diner type food.

5 stars for their bonuts (omg - came fresh and warm, so fluffy but with a nice denseness) and their shrimp and grits. The flavor of the shrimp and grits is awesome with a good kick to the Cajun cream sauce. Coffee is just ok but I do appreciate they gave us the thermos for our table. They have a bunch of other interesting brunch items so we definitely will be back to try others! Highly recommend!

Just went to the Barrington location on a Thursday at 10am. Restaurant was only about 30 percent occupied. The place is a very loud echo chamber. Other customers voices just echo. It must be much worse on a busy weekend. People have to talk even louder to hear each other. The food is great. The staff is great. The beverages are great. The interior surfaces definitely need acoustic absorbing panels to reduce the sound reflection. It was difficult to hold a normal level conversation. I feel bad for the nice staff working in such a loud environment. The car dealership repair shops I have worked in are much quieter. I gave this place a low review rating since it's not a relaxing place to eat , due to the loud environment. We won't be coming back.

Our server was so funny love her <3 the skillet was so filling (I think mine was the jalepeno popper skillet). The ambiance is super cute too and plenty of space - perfect spot for brunch + shopping.

Parking: About 5-6 spots in front but there’s a lot near by and street parking

Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs - no ramp

I had forgotten how wonderful this place is until I returned after about a year, and it didn’t disappoint! The ambiance is beautiful, creating a perfect spot for a relaxing brunch. Though we were told the wait would be 30 minutes, we were seated in just 15. The service is always quick and efficient. We ordered the vegetable omelette and the garden skillet, which came with a soft, fresh biscuit that was absolutely delicious. The freshly brewed coffee was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. To top it off, we ended with their pancakes, which were a great way to finish. The whole experience, especially on a lovely Sunday morning, was just delightful. Our server was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Overall, this place continues to be a go-to spot for a quick, satisfying, and memorable brunch!

Southern Belle’s Review

Southern Belle’s offers a delightful dining experience. The wait time was minimal, only about 5 minutes before being seated, which was a great start. The ambiance was clean and well-decorated, with a warm and welcoming feel that adds to the Southern charm.

I ordered the vegetarian omelette, which was deliciously fresh and flavorful—perfectly cooked and generously portioned with a variety of vegetables. It’s a great option for vegetarians or anyone looking for a lighter, nutritious meal. The coffee was served piping hot and tasted rich and bold, making it an ideal complement to breakfast.

Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive, and our server made sure everything was to our liking. The entire restaurant, from the tables to the restrooms, was neat and well-maintained, showing a strong focus on cleanliness.

Overall, Southern Belle’s is a lovely spot for a casual meal, whether you’re grabbing breakfast or enjoying brunch with friends. The combination of good food, cozy ambiance, and efficient service makes it a place worth visiting again.

Cute brunch spot w generous portions. Really liked the corned beef hash and the huge fluffy pancakes! Quite loud as it was crowded. Bring cash if you want to avoid a 2% for credit card charges, didn't see the tiny message until after I paid.

Exactly what you would want from a breakfast restaurant and more. They have all your favorites and their cornbeef is home made.
