What can I say about the Users Center? I am not an employee of Fermilab, but fell upon the users center one afternoon while birdwatching on their spacious and beautiful open lands. I am eternally grateful to be embraced by many diverse , funny and intelligent, (of course ) employees of Fermilab who I now call my friends. Interesting mixture of 1970's basement rec room decor with a clientele of people working at the cutting edge of discovery. Mix in some reasonably priced craft beer and the conversation can cover just about anything.
The place is nice and cosy, albeight just a bit shabby. There is a bar, a fireplace, a room for kids, a piano room, even a small restaurant serving lunch every now and then. The food at the bar is surprisingly good, definitely recommend. Regular meetings, activities and events for lab users.
