I don’t typically do reviews but I want to help this place. The food was better than I thought it was going to be because my initial first impressions were not good. Walking up to the front door, several of us were commenting on the broken and loose bricks and the worry that it can cause a safety hazard. I then immediately looked to my left as I entered the establishment and noticed a broken window. Soon after that, I entered the women’s restroom and couldn’t use the second sink because the handle to turn the water on was broken off. The food was good but I wonder, if they can’t take care of these large disrepairs, how are they storing the food. Management and owners need a rebrand. Ready other reviews about the service, time to close or make some huge changes.

Really cool place that has an amazing outdoor patio on the river . I like how old the building is with a little but of European feeling due to all the old brick. Food as delish

Really an excellent local spot, patio seating is so nice and cool in the heat because of the location. Pizza is always and has always been delicious here. Tomato sauce has a rich unique taste to it that you cant find at other local spots. Reccommend!

Seated us by river, which was nice. After bringing us our requested waters, the waitress never came back. After 15 minutes, we left. The lady at the next table laughed and said I don't blame you. As we were leaving, I noticed a musty smell in dining area area and by the front door as if they have had water damage that was never cleaned properly. Maybe they were short staffed, I dont know. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience .

Nice variety and tasty Ruben sandwich. 😋 Really beautiful location for a restaurant. Was only trouble, I almost tripped on their inside floor. It's bumpy and declines quickly,
trying to find a seat.

It was ok. Not impressed. I felt squeezed in for our event. We had a gathering for after a funeral and just felt the sitting was tight. For the size of our group we could've had the entire downstairs area, behind the bar.
The food was great. Coffee was old and cold.

The food was okay. The restaurant seemed to have gone downhill. The exterior was in need of better upkeep and the inside glass eating area was full of webs and bugs and the windows were very dirty. A deep cleaning is needed asap.

love the place been going since 1980s
I was so disappointed with this place. I've never encountered such bad service from any restaurant ever. We sat outside and it was nice overlooking the fox river but we literally sat there and waited for everything. Now mind you this place was empty and one waitress who cared it seemed for everyone including us was working so hard while our waitress couldn't be bothered with anything including To even talk. My wife even complained and she never does. The good was mediocre and the sides were brought out 7 minutes after the meal and I had to ask the busboy to get waitress for another drink. It truly was ridiculous and when I walked thru the restaurant I saw our waitress sitting talking to the bartender and just acting like no care in the world. I literally told the hostess and she just stared at me but no one in the place seemed like a manager or above 21. Truly it was a waste of 130 dollars

This issue has happened to me twice. The first time, my family and I had to wait over an hour for food when we decided to leave. The second time it took over an hour to get some pasta and appetizers. The water took over 25 minutes to come to the table. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was very peppery and cold. The garlic bread was too greasy. I watched the servers sit at one of their stations for more time than five minutes talking. Very disappointed with the service and food.

John was able to make room for our large family on a busy Saturday night when our other plans fell through on short notice. Our large group included kids aged 2-18, adults, as well as our elderly parents. The service was wonderful; Patty took care of our family with ease, the food was great and appeased all age groups. In the end we were much happier that our plans fell through at another more commercial restaurant and ended up here, where we were treated more like family than a number on a ticket.

How do people say this is good pizza? It virtually cake with pizza toppings. The crust is so thick and mushy like a pizza hut breadstick. Yuck.
