Touring from Chicago on bicycles. Stopped in here to escape the 97 degree weather. Knocked back a couple of beers and had a few locally made Butches Pizzas, I recommend the white garlic. Caleb was cool and the other patrons friendly.
Great little spot in Benson-- needed to grab lunch while in town at a customer site and happened upon this bar & grill. It's the quintessential small town bar-- everyone knows everyone, the service is personal and laid back, the food is dirt cheap and they make you feel like family. Quality of food was on par with what you'd expect; I had the daily special-- pork chop sandwich. If you find yourself hungry and in Benson, IL -- stop in and give AJ's a go!
