My hubby won a trophy at the Big Rock car show last week and the organizers left the trophy for us at the Big Rock Cafe (to save on postage.) So, we stopped at the Cafe today to pick up the trophy and ate lunch there. It’s a homey place with an extensive menu. The corn beef hash is outstanding! I got it with cheddar cheese on it. Yum! My husband enjoyed his burger and fries. I bought my pancakes home and we are eating them now (for dinner LOL!) They give you TONS of food. You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure!
the staff/owners are so sweet, they put their hearts into this place. The food comes in large portions and tastes like grandma's cooking.
Very nice cozy old fashioned dinner family establishment with great customer service
I’ve been coming to Big Rock Cafe for twenty years. Best breakfast food and friendliest staff in Chicago. Don’t miss it.
Every time I head out that way I gotta stop for breakfast the trucker Skillet with scrambled eggs on top and pancakes 🥞 😋
Big Rock Cafe is a refreshing throwback in time compared to all the other new look-alike blah decor restaurants. The owners and the help are very personable and work very hard to keep their customers happy. Try their Belgium waffle connection combo plate. Their Belgium waffles have a special unique flavor we've not found anywhere else. Their breakfast meats are top notch. Very tasty bacon, lean sausages and thick slices of ham with very tasty fresh eggs. You also can't go wrong with their very fluffy omelettes. We've been going there now over 10 years and are glad they survived the covid years. If you want to treat yourself to a good old-fashioned America dining experience, do yourself a favor and check out the Big Rock Cafe on Route 30 just a few miles west of Highway 47 in the Aurora Municipal Airport.
Amazing little café/ diner.
Food is very good
Great portions with that small town diner feel. Hidden gem. Skirt steak and eggs skillet awesome. Pancakes were great
The owners also work there too, they are such nice people. 100% chance you are not going to finish your meal with the amount of food they give you, it's going to be the next 2 meals worth of food. The French toast is beyond amazing, the biscuits and gravy you can tell are made there.
Good food, good service
Great food and atmosphere

Nice fluffy omelet without being soggy. Good value .
Great food; huge portions!
It's pretty good. Prices are a little higher than I would have hoped. However, the food was also better than I could've hoped. So if you average those out. You've got yourself exactly what I was expecting.
What a fantastic little cafe. The service is always fast and friendly. The restaurant is little and cozy so we were happy we stopped on our way through this quaint little town.
We were there about 11am so one at the table ordered lunch and one ordered breakfast, both were very good and the soup served with lunch was very good. If you are passing through and find yourself in the vicinity during breakfast and lunch I highly recommend stopping and enjoy a very nice meal.
Friendly staff and amazing food. The portions were more than expected.
