Absolutely phenomenal restaurant. The pretzel pot roast sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Their fried haddock has fresh homemade batter that makes you feel like you are in Florida eating fresh fish... Go here, now!

Been going to Portillo's in Rockford Illinois every since they opened several years ago. Love the Beef sandwiches and Hotdogs. Very disappointed in one of my other favorites.... the chopped salad. Just picked up one and it is about 1/3 smaller than before. The house dressing was terrible and no chunks of chicken at all. Hoping they just got my order wrong but the receipt had everything I ordered. Need to leave a good thing alone.

Had the chopped chicken salad. Love the combination of ingredients that has salty bacon creamy blue cheese balanced with chilled lettuce tomatoes green onions etc... the carry out container is also nice as it holds the cups of dressing conveniently on the top lid. Bread and butter comes with it. Enough here for two or three people to share.
