This is the most authentic Mexican food I've had in Illinois. Clearly different than those who bland everything for Midwestern taste. A great find!

Our first visit! Driving back from STL we stopped here for an early dinner. Had the carne asada torta special, two kids meals (Mac and cheese and a burrito with sides of veggies and ranch and sweet corn), guacamole, and chicken tortilla soup. Churros with 3 sauces for dessert. Everything was DELICIOUS! Staff was friendly and kind. Will definitely return. Great for families and groups. Nice bar with TVs, but still classy.

Lauren (I believe that was her name) was a fantastic server! I asked about the pork belly quesadilla and she said it was great, so I split it with my father—and boy oh boy, it did not disappoint. The flavor was amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
Great establishment, great service. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Blono.
10/10, will eat again.

I enjoy eating at Ancho & Agave when I visit Bloomington once or twice a year. But tonight I would especially like to give thanks for the special service I received. I left my credit card in the payment folder and received a phone call before I made it back to my hotel. They had looked up my name from a reservation I had made on a previous visit. This kindness saved me an immense amount of time and trouble. I will be forever grateful.

if I could zero stars I would- called to ask if we can reserve a seat- was told on the phone that we can walk in.- when there was treated very poorly - a Male at the front had no manners on how to speak to a potential customer- I will be reporting this branch to their cooperation-

As a fan of pure Mexican food the upscale was done in an interesting way. Food is ok if. Would not recommend if you are looking for authentic Mexican
Been here a couple times for lunch and dinner and have been pleased every time. The food really is notch or two above the other Mexican restaurants in town. The chips and salsa are great but try some of the other appetisers too. The entrees were all fantastic so go with what you like. Prices are higher than most but you are paying for the atmosphere, which is modern and energetic. For a treat, try their horchata, it's unique and amazing, albeit extremely overpriced. We will surely be back!

Been here multiple times and it doesn’t disappoint! The three tacos I had were great! I highly recommend the Al pastor, the firecracker shrimp, and the Nashville hot chicken. I was suspicious of the last option but it turned out to be really tasty!
