Perfect for a special night out. The atmosphere is very sophisticated yet relaxed. And honestly the prices aren't that bad given how nice it is here! The charcuterie board (adult lunchables) was beautiful. Forgot to take a picture of the pickled onion rings, but they were fantastic!!

So, the oysters and the mussels were very good. I’m pretty sure the sourcing of all ingredients is very thoughtful. Even the potatoes were exceptional. We like the use of what turned out to be turnips. Everything was cooked well. I like that they are inspired by April Bloomfield, one of my favourite chefs. However, the entrees weren’t anything special. I guess it was more comfort food, and disappointing after the awesome starters. They were accommodating and made a kind of gravy. I did like the lightly fried potato slabs. The non alcoholic drinks weren’t great. And the dessert, while clearly made with good ingredients, was not as intriguing as the description. Not sure where the peach jam was in it all. The atmosphere is fine. A little darker than I’d like, a lamp on the table or small one above our heads would have been useful. The music doesn’t go with the atmosphere. I think it’s a new restaurant, and they might also be timid due to their location, but I feel they should do more with what they have.

My Husband and I went here for a date, drove all the way from Peoria. Had a late dinner reservation. Sat in a cozy corner in the back room. Unfortunately our server focused on her last tables and side work. Kinda forgot about us and then avoided us entirely. Missed our appetizer completely. Got our drinks in okay time. Dinner was great. Never checked in on us. The gentleman offering us water later in the meal was the only time. By then we wanted to just pack our food. She came to the table to offer us dessert ... Didn't feel into it by then. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and felt our experience lacked so we gave it another shot by moving over to the bar area to have a second drink. Our bartender was great. Management seemed scarce so wasn't able to inform one of our experience but we told our bartender. He did his best to make sure our drinks were spot on.I emailed and reached out, as we love the partnered restaurants and have been to them various times. Never heard back. It's been quite a while now. Didn't want anything out of the deal but just felt slighted and felt it important to share or nothing ever CNA be fixed or worked on training wise for staff. Drove all the way out there to then feel it wasn't the best. Will be back again to see if anything has changed. Hoping so!

We were forgot about at first. Wanted to order appetizers but so much time went by that we couldn't make it to our next event in time. Service was better after we were found. Cocktails were ok, and the food was average. We had the bluegill sandwich and steak. The bluegill tasted like river catfish, and the steak was, eh ok. Fries were cold/hard, and I had to drink 2 gallons of water that night to rehydrate for all the salt that was applied to the fries. Overall, I wish they had a 2.5 star button to push.

Absolutely love this place. This is my second time visiting. I love this cozy speakeasy in downtown bloomington. Great music. Lovely waitresses/waiters and awesome bartenders. Kaitlin took care of me and my friend and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food and drinks were very fresh. Will be visiting again with family! I ordered the oysters Rockefeller and a white blend and the garden martini.

The atmosphere & ambiance is ONLY outdone by the cuisine- DELICIOUS doesn't quite capture how superlative our meal was. And the cocktail!?? OMG amazing. Wonderful service, also. Bravo B & P!

We've been to Bakery and Pickle many times and the food and service has always been fantastic. They are very creative with their dishes and cocktails. I've also ordered off menu on drinks many times and they are always accommodating. Easily one of the best restaurants in Bloomington/Normal.

Dinner was phenomenal. Best oysters I've had anywhere - ever. The crispy bluegill sandwich was delicious- I woke up thinking about it today. I docked them a few stars for service. We were seated promptly, but waited 15-20 min for our drink orders to be taken. We saw other tables who were seated after us have their orders taken before us. Felt like we were forgotten and had to ask the person who was refilling our waters if someone was going to come take our order. After we ordered, service was still really slow. They did have the option to order from your table on the app, which I did when I wanted more oysters (seriously, so good!) and those came up super quick. The next time we go, I'll stick with the self service ordering option. The place was absolutely gorgeous though and so intimate. glad to have a place like this in town!!Kid-friendliness: I wouldnt bring my kids here, there's no kids menu and is a bit too fancy for their liking. Plus the ambiance would be ruined for other patrons in my opinion.

If you want to have the best dining experience in town you have to go to B&P. The staff, food, and atmosphere is all top notch. It's our favorite spot for special occasions. We went for my birthday this week and were absolutely spoiled by the team. The experience itself is a lot of food but always great! You get the opportunity to try a lot of flavor combinations you wouldn't normally get elsewhere. The vegetables are usually seasonal but last night we had peppers, mashed potatoes, and carrots. The tuna was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about the time and consideration they take to make sure your dish is balanced and delicious. For dessert the chef made an apple turnover paired with salted carmel ice cream. Thank you so much to Bethany and the team for taking such good care of us!

Entering the place, I very much enjoyed the password gimmick, where regulars could use the password, and those entering for the first time could offer up a good joke or funny story in its place. I got hit in the a** by the disguised exit door while mulling over some ideas for a joke, but I didn't mind. After some time, the hostess allowed me in after I could gave reasoning to my favorite ice cream flavor.Entering the restaurant proper, I was struck by the cozy, soothing atmosphere of the interior, though the music would occasionally offset the comfy vibes. In all, though, the hour or so I spent here was quite relaxing.I ordered 3 courses in total. Before my appetizer, I got a Thai Iced Coffee. It had nigh-on half a dozen ingredients, however it was very well-balanced and I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing it was. While enjoying my drink, I took notice of how well-organized the bar was, with all liqueurs on the patrons' left, and spirits on the right, with the mixing spirits largely taking up the middle space. For my appetizer, I got the Blistered Sweet Peppers and an Uncle Joe's Aperitivo. The former was very tasty all-round, and I scarfed it down in short time. However, I feel it could benefit from the addition of friggitelli/pepperoncinis to get the saliva flowing a bit more and to further whet the appetite. The Aperitivo was tasty and fully served its purpose, though was a bit separated when I received it.For my dinner, I got the Bluegill Sandwich with B&P Garlic Fries. The fries were tasty, but slightly lacking in garlic flavor. This is amended as more fries are scarfed down without dip, but the ketchup unfortunately totally resets the palette. I personally recommend eating them plain. As for the sandwich: the bun, lettuce, slaw, and the tartar sauce pulled a lot of weight -- they were all quite tasty. Although, the pickles were rather redundant since there were already pickles and dill in the tartar sauce. As for the bluegill, I'm loath to say it left a bit to be desired. The meat itself may have benefitted from marinating, and the batter may have been better off with more spice. As for the frying, it seemed over-fried, as the fish was a bit lacking in texture, and was a bit too greasy. A lighter oil and a pan fry as opposed to basket fry might amend it.Dessert definitely pulled the whole meal together. I had an Amaro for a digestif, along with some peach and honey sorbet. The serving staff were very helpful in suggesting a good digestif, and their recommendation was right on the money. The waffle-like garnish on top of the sorbet was delicious in its own right, and could stand on its own as a snack. The sorbet was incredibly flavorful, with the peach and honey flavors standing out brightly, with the sorbet not being overly sweet as many often are. The sprinkling of cinnamon was an excellent complement as well. All told, I spent about 80 dollars tonight, tip included, and about 3/4 of it was most definitely worth it; a solid first impression in my book. I look forward to trying more of the menu when I next come in.All in all, I would rate my experience tonight as somewhere between a 7.5/10 and 8/10
