The food is not the problem! We have been there several times and the food has never disappointed us. It is very good! The problem is restaurant management and service. We have been there twice recently and spent an hour and a half once and even longer another time, just getting a “quick”dinner for two. Their Facebook posts are nothing more than bait and switch tactics. Both times we came because of a special offer. Both times we ended up paying more than we intended due to wrong or misleading posts. FYI, if you want the wing deal you will have to order at least 15 wings! If you want happy hour prices, show up early. They don’t seem to know if it’s from 2 to 5 or 3 to 6. If you want the daily special, call first to see what it really is that day. I’m not sure our servers were totally at fault. Both were relatively new and doing what they said they had been told. I’m not sure why the food takes so long to come out, especially when they aren’t busy, which is normal. It just seems like they have a good product but not a clue how to run a restaurant.
Had the trio for dinner and it was really good! Delicious crunchy chicken, fries & dessert! Will 💯 be back
Bonchon is a very tasty and good experience. I got the 4 drumstick lunch special with half soy garlic and half K-BBQ both were very good! The chicken was crispy and juicy! Service was pretty good too my server was very attentive and made sure everything exceeded expectations. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The only complaint is the location! It seems so far out from Bloomington, and it's in a hotel/conference center. I had to do a double take to see if I was at the correct place or not... in the mood for something different then burgers and fries? Come check out Bonchon! It's worth the drive.
I love this place and would highly recommend it! Food and drinks were a hit but honestly the service I received from Dara was what truly stood out. Stop by, make sure you ask for Dara! I was having a rough time and she really made my day.

This is my second time purchasing food from there. Their chicken is really crispy. Exactly how they advertise it. It just lacks a little seasoning, but if it is drowned in their sauce, which I get is the Korean barbecue it is really good. You don’t notice that there isn’t seasoning to the meat until you get past the crunchy outside. The server wasn’t too familiar with their lunch menu so I had to show as well as tell him about it but other than that, it was a good. Food was cooked quickly extremely hot, which is great. Let me know that they just cooked my food, which is what we all love to get. Very reasonable price got a really good lunch. Deal for six total pieces of chicken two brontosaurus size legs, which was perfect and four decently sized drumsticks. The only downside is that this place is way over east and almost nowhere land would be nice if they would come closer into Bloomington Normal city side other than that I would definitely recommend.

3.75 stars — by no means a bad experience, but a bit odd. I ordered the Buldak. Food was good but less spicy than I was expecting based on times I have eaten at other Banchan locations. A woman different than our waiter (presumably higher management or owner) approached us as we were finishing our meal and asked how everything was. I said it was really good…just a bit less spicy than I anticipated. I, by no means, meant to offend or nitpick in saying that — I am just a spice-lover and Korean-food-lover with plenty of experience with extra-spicy Buldak ramen. Maybe my innocent intention didn’t come across, as the woman almost became defensive. She said something along the lines of “Well, you should try the Buldak next time, in that case. It’s our spiciest dish.” I looked down at the Buldak dish right in front of me and then up at my dining partner, a bit confused… I see other reviews about spice level being underwhelming. Those other reviews combined with my experience make me wonder if maybe they do not much take customer feedback, well, here. Not the end of the world — just doesn’t allow for a 5-star customer experience, especially if higher management or someone other than the waiter is involved.
I may have given 4 stars if our waiter did not try to upsell cocktails at 2PM on a Thursday! Kinda made things even more awkward — again, odd atmosphere and experience.

First time eating here. Had the wings with Korean BBQ sauce, and Pork-Belly House Fried Rice. It was awesome...definitely coming back. ?

I’m very disappointed with our recent experience. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, and while one was fine, the other was completely undercooked. We sent it back, but the replacement sandwich was so overcooked that it was impossible to bite into—it was rock hard!

Whoever complained that this places food isn't spicy enough is actually wild. I like food so spicy my nose runs and sometimes I end up crying LOL I got the spicy sauce for my chicken and it was so spicy that not only did my nose run and my face got red, but my boyfriend, who does the hot chip challenge every year, literally said that I had lost my mind eating all the wings.
I don't know how to really drive home how spicy I like food. At multiple places I have had to promise to still pay for food if they happened to make it too spicy. No one ever has. This place... This place was wild. Level of heat reminded me more of sichuan chilis than just normal Korean spice. It was WONDERFUL...
SOOOOO seriously I could not imagine a world in which this places spice wasn't enough.

The tacos had 2-3 small peices of bulgogi. So you were eating a coleslaw taco. The japchae was the same. A light sprinkling of bulgogi meat. The bathrooms were disgusting, but that's probably on the conference center.
