Seems like the dine-in experience has slipped some as the last time I was there the place itself could've used a serious refresh, but I typically pick up our food to go and now with Grubhub/Yelp delivery, I don't even need to do that! And even if they seem to have cut back a bit on the meat/seafood in each dish, they STILL make some of the best house noodles (I.e. lo mein / mei fun) in town. We also like their moo shu pork, shrimp pancake and crab rangoon...and wish the gyoza were a better value - I.e. less expensive, plumper and/or more of them. And while we also have enjoyed their sushi in years' past, these days with all the options out there, we tend to go elsewhere for that.

Hadn't been to this restaurant for a couple of years since the food and serve were always disappointing. Haven't had luck ordering delivery for this restaurant as they don't start filling the order until I've waited an hour and call them which reminds them to check the online orders. And they usually forget items for your order, so you have to check. Anyway, I tried again and we had several dishes and they all were either disgusting or flavorless. The fried rice had no flavor, didn't think it possible to make flavorless fried rice. Chicken satay was overcooked and dry. Yellow curry had no coconut milk creaminess nor spicy sweetness, it was basically bitter yellow water. I may wait a few years before trying again but I'm sure they'll be out of business before then.

I would find this place on literally my last night in Bloomington and fall in love because it has Korean short ribs! Over the year and half that I have lived here I couldn't find a single place that has that! The short ribs are a must order, I promise you cant go wrong. I like that they have a little bit of something from various Asian cuisines - Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese (sushi). We enjoyed everything we ordered which included the short ribs, crab rangoon, chicken lo mein, and a beef curry.

Just in Bloomington on business and found this place on yelp. It in a shopping center so easy to miss. Food was great. Had the beef foon noodles. Sweet and sour soup still has me sweating but it was spicy and so good. I couldn't stop eating. Portions are huge so share.

I'm more impressed this time, with my eyes expanding to the other menu they have other than Chinese. We ordered the Pork Eggplants, Crispy Eggplants, and Fried Dumplings. The food was better than last time, and had the right amount of saltiness. Although they were not authentic Chinese dishes, but I can appreciate it with the American sugar and sour twist. The service was good, too. I would come back to try their Thai and Korean dishes next time!

The nigiri was huge, so that part was great, if not surprising. But the yellowtail and tuna was a bit fishy. Also, the driver could not find our house and we had to walk out to the street to flag him down. So the delivery service part was a bit of a pain.

They must have lots of family leaving reviews. This is Horrible ! Did not get what I ordered . And the sauce that came with my food is like water ! Warm slightly pink water !! Delivery was totally unwilling to correct the order . Do yourself a favor and choose any other Chinese delivery you can find . I would go hungry before ordering here again . Oh yea I ordered from them and will be hungry if I don't order someplace else . This is not edible !

After ordering from Orient Gourmet, I was incensed enough to create a Yelp account to stave others away from having a similar bad experience. I want to preface this by stating that I have ordered from them several times before and, though not the best service, it still was somewhat decent. I ordered from them last night and after one hour, my patience was still intact, the person on the phone said their driver was in an accident and the food would be there in twenty minutes. Fast forward forty minutes later and still no food. I was entertaining guests and everyone was starting to become restless. I called the restaurant again and asked to cancel the order. The same person answered the phone and said I couldn't cancel because she didn't know which driver had my food and that the snow outside made the call very dangerous. She refused to cancel the order. The driver arrived and the food was cold and frankly, utterly unappetizing. All of the food went straight into the trash can. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager and they said they would call back. The next day, they called and offered an insulting amount of credit for a future order. I didn't want a credit, I just wanted them to refund the order. They refused. When I asked again to speak to a manager, the person that answered the phone placed the receiver on the table and proceeded to converse with the manager while I could hear the entire conversation. The manager refused to speak with me and gave the excuse that he was out and unavailable. I honestly implore anyone reading this to find a different means for your takeout needs. I have worked in the food service industry for more than half a decade and I have NEVER experienced such horrific customer service. They have refused both mine and Grub Hubs request for a full refund for the order. PLEASE STAY AWAY!

The curry and General Tso's we ordered were terrible. Basically flavorless except for being spicy.

Delicious, high quality sushi. Will definitely be going back soon. Highly recommend the red dragon tail!

There is not a single Asian cuisine inspired restaurant in Bloomington-Normal I have not tried and Orient Gourmet is my favorite! The best sushi and Korean dishes in town.

The food was very good, but their delivery/take out estimate is not very accurate. Delivery took almost an hour and a half after we ordered, but Eat 24 estimated only 30-45 minutes. Take out took 50 minutes when the estimate online was 15-35 minutes. I waited in the restaurant for almost a half hour after arriving to pick up. I would suggest calling in your order to see if you get a more accurate estimate. There are a lot of good options on the menu and everything we've tried is great. Just not a great place to call when you're already pretty hungry.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. THIS RESTAURANT'S A JOKE. I WAITED 2 HOURS FOR MY FOOD. I CALLED 5 TIMES AND WAS TOLD MY FOOD WAS ON THE WAY EACH TIME. I WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE THEM ONE STAR IF THAT WERE AN OPTION. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Ordered from this place several times now. Their food has been consistently good and they have very quick delivery. I particularly recommend their chicken teriyaki. It's just as good as when I was in Okinawa.

Used to be my favorite Oriental restaurant in town. Recently, the service has been AWFUL. The waiter who is always working won't take our order unless we get up to find him-everytime and we typically go when the place is empty. Today, the woman helping him told us to get our own refills across the counter. Unbelievable. The owners' child was letting out periodic shrieks at the table next to ours for no apparent reason (this is at least a 7 year old child), and then approached my 4 year old and tried to poke her with a tooth pick. You can't make this stuff up. Done with this establishment.
