Got a to go order. Food was just fine. Not a complaint one. Food I chose was just normal good. Would defiantly go again but not so good I'd make a point to take friends (if that makes sense)

5 of us went from work for a Christmas breakfast in December. Our food came and half of it was not even warm. I politely asked the waitress if she could take my biscuits and gravy back and warm it up, she was snarky about it. A co worker also asked that something from her plate be fixed and the waitress had an attitude about that, too. Another coworker asked for a box for her leftovers and that never appeared. I will return for the wonderful brunch but never again table side service. And the cold biscuits and gravy was such a a turn off.

1st time I ever had bad service. sat 18 minutes and was ignored. the gal at the front desk didn't speak great English and I asked if they were short handed. she looked at me in a puzzled manor. We got up and left.

First I wanna say this review has nothing to do with my server (Karen) was amazing! However the young Hostess at the front was horrible. First walk in and she didn't greet us. Brought us to our table was rude. While waiting to pay the same Hostess. Didn't talk had an attitude. Asked for the receipt she was pissed off. Then she threw this receipt on the counter. I said okay have a good day and don't throw stuff. Next customer she snatched the money out of their hand they was with my party just different bill.

It's a good place to eat. Large menu, great specials, but they should get coke products. The salads are huge and taste yummy. I was told the meatloaf is really good too. The horseshoe is good, I've had that a few times. A lot of older people eat here but younger people will get just as much enjoyment from the food as the old people. I recommend eating food here.
My second time visiting this place and It was a VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, UNWELCOMING EXPERIENCE.. I visited the first time MONTHS AGO which LEAD ME TO VISIT AGAIN. This time WITH MY 8 year old SON! went to the establishment there were no line or MANY PEOPLE eating only about 3 tables occupied on a Saturday Evening at 4:45 pm 02/24/2024! went in ordered food for me and my child Was seated and I noticed the waiter looking from the cook area at us as we sat down.. the look he gave was like a debate on wether he wanted to come take our order, he did. Upon getting my order taken the girl that seated us kept looking around at me and my child like what was we doing there! Waiter completed order food was brought out. AFTER 5 minutes our food was brought out the waiter came back and asked if we needed anything INCLUDING TO GO BOXES I THEN WAS CONFUSED BECAUSE WE JUST GOT OUR FOOD WHY WOULD WE NEED TO GO BOXES! I stated no we was fine. WE ORDERED A BIG SELECTION OF FOOD SO WE WENT TO RELAX AND TAKE OUR TIME TO EAT! He then came back 5 minutes after that ASKING ID WE NEEDED ANYTHING AND AGIN PROCEEDED TO ASK IF I NEED A TO GO BOX MY MY CHILDS CHEESEBURGER AND FRIES I SAID I DONT THINK WE NEED ANYTHING ELSE AND WE ARE NOT READY FOR TO GO BOXES! My son then noticed the behavior and said momma I think they want us to go because he asking us about boxe. I think they are racist momma because we the only blacks in here and it’s all these WHITE PEOPLE! I said baby you know I was just thinking the same thing. I’m looking around and saw a table with two women WHITE and Mexican that was there way before us was eating when I got there and not once did I hear him asked if they needed to go boxes dirty napkins was on their table from them eating and they sat there and was talking for a very long time NOT ONCE DID I SEE HIM CONTINUOUSLY ASK THEM IF THEY NEEDED ANYTHING ELSE OR DIDNT SEE HIM RUSIMG THEM AT ALL!!! I’m so disappointed that me and my child had to experience THIS BEHAVIOR AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. They may do have BLACKS COMING TO EAT MAYBE ITS AT A CERTAIN TIME THAT THEY COME AND MAYBE IT WAS THE WRONG TIME THAT ME AND MY CHILD WENT! We were passing through on our way to Peoria. Great place! We both had the cheeseburger chowder soup. Very good. I had a reuben on marbled rye It was just OK...cheap pressed lunch meat corned beef. My husband had the chicken salad sandwich on toast. He enjoyed it. I had a piece of coconut cream pie...it was fresh and wonderful! Husband had 2 scoops of vanilla that were the size of a baseball.. $44...a bit pricey for n this area.

Service is good, but the prices for the food don't add up. Some items are okay but others seem overpriced. Regular diner style meals. Quick seating due to large dining room. Would be good for a group if planning ahead. Buffet is a little sad :/ went there a few times when moving to the area and wanted to like it, but unfortunately I just don't. The pie or cake is worth taking home though!
