It claims to be Chicago style, I'm a truck driver from the Chicagoland area, it was ok but not Chicago style, it was bit more pricey than the Chicagoland spots,but it was ok...long story short, I would go back again....

New owners are pretty awesome , the restaurant is super clean with obviously the food tasting yummmmm . I would definitely recommend the catfish dinner , jumbo shrimp and chicken wings with lemon pepper and mild sauce

Last night was my worst experience. The short white guy long hair no hair net and tall black guy was rude. We had 2 orders of the gizzards and catfish meals. My boyfriend asked for sauce on the side..I wanted sauce. He gave me two squints. I asked for more nad lemon pepper. Told me I have to pay for it. Your known for sauce n lemon pepper. Gizzards were fried rock hard and dry
Catfish was mushy. I'll wait until the original guy is there before I eat there again. If that.

Catfish was great but the older African American lady wanted to argue about what I order over the phone for a good 2 mins so that she really upset me besides that.

My husband and I went to jj fish on Market street. We walked in and took a Quick Look around the first thing my husband seen was something crawling on the floor by the table and chairs, he said I’m about to smash that fly but as he got closer it was a roach he stepped on. “He said Steph that was a roach” I said I know you are lying as he started to walk towards me he look in the corner and it was a gang of roaches. Needless to say We Will Never Be Back.

Guy was working all by himself while the A/C was broken. He still served fresh hot food and kept a great attitude. Keep up the great work GOD BLESS 🙏🏾

I should have walked out as soon as I seen the place. The food was old, we had shrimp and catfish Nuggets. Had to have been fried more than once. The fries were chewy and I bet money they had been there at least all day. My husband was very hungry but had to stop eating because it was bad. The cocktail sauce comes from a 2 gallon jug under the cabinet and that stuff is bad. We both have indigestion that came on very fast. We used to like JJ’s but it has steadily gotten worse over the past year or so

This chicken was old and pink and bloody inside when I got it. It even had a taste like blood and made me sick to my stomach and I could not eat it. This was however an order through door dash but the lady that answered the phone at the place of business was nice. And I did receive a refund . First and last time eating here.
