I placed an online order in advance. I received a message that it was ready when I went to pick up the door was locked and no one would answer the drive thru. I ended having to pull up and knock on the drive thru window. The man working told me they were closed even though it was 4:20 and the sign said they closed at 5. When I explained I had an online order and it said it was ready for he told me he had no orders and refused to look at my receipt or make the food I already paid for.

The staff has been inattentive every time i've come here and the food subpar. The meat has been cold half the time, other ingredients not fully microwaved. If you ask for hot sauce or napkins, make sure you ask twice, and once more when you get your food because they will not include anything you request unless you ask multiple times.

Horrible food. Chicken was soggy. Shells were wet from the watery soggy chicken. Soft shell taco was filled with wet lettuce literally a teaspoon of meat. Potatoes were obviously old. The cheese sauce and Pepsi were good. I will not be back. I miss the old Taco Johns standards. Extremely disappointed.

Review written 9/29/2025. tasty food. Unfortunately the Taco Johns in Champaign closed a few years ago but this one in Bloomington Normal still exists which is nice to have when traveling. Has a drive thru. Professional efficient service.
Tip: the chipotle lime sauce is free to add a side of and it is yummy

I ordered the chicken quesadillas. The tortillas tasted burnt and kinda tasted like plastic. It was not good food.
We used to love walking to Taco John's to get our dinner. We would lose track of time, doing projects, we live close by. The last two times we have gotten there with plenty of time before posted closing time. Both times the place was locked down for the night. Last night was an hour before posted closing time. Doors locked drive through closed as well. If you're going to post your hours make sure they are right. It totally changed Taco Tuesday for us. Last time we came back home got in the car and drove to Taco Bell. The same car was there both times. Other customers there were just as irritated as us.

The Strawberry Lemonade is delicious. The food is ok, the potatoes are hot most of the time, but anymore it seems like the proteins are only warm, and seem to be lacking flavor these days. I have noticed that some employees start taking your order from outside, because they are outside smoking then rush in to either have you repeat your order or to rush you because it's like you are causing them to have to work. They probably don't wash their hands after they have been outside.

This was my first visit, I got to the drive thru and was immediately told it was going to be awhile very rudely. I said ok then he immediately took my order. The guy stopped me several times acting extremely frustrated and had zero customer service skills at all. I spent almost $40, I would think I could at least get a little courtesy. I proceeded to pay and had to drive back around to spot 1, there was absolutely no one in the restaurant nor the drive thru. It didn’t take long for my food to come out and the worker didn’t even say thank you, have a nice day, nothing, I said thank you and I got a “yep”. The food is very good but having such terrible customer service has turned me from visiting this establishment again. Just seemed to be a bunch of kids running the restaurant who really doesn’t want to deal with customers at all. Such a shame because the food was excellent but customer service is extremely important to me.
