Yeah this place is something interesting. It’s a local joint so you get good service and welcoming atmosphere. Food is another story. SMALL portion sizes for dinners that are almost $20 with tax. Get a pizza to be filled up. Should include bread for free or something on the side. Joke of an establishment with weird smell in the staircase too. Wouldn’t return.

Walked in at 6pm without a reservation and met Theres at the bar who suggested we have a drink while waiting for 2 seats at the bar. Only waited about 20 minutes before being seated near the grill. I had reviewed the menu online and knew what I wanted, and my guest had been many times before and knew EXACTLY what he would have. My drink was a perfectly made Martini and it was fantastic. When I asked if the fried chicken livers were good, Theres said the best in the county and I agree. Ordered a Caesar salad with housemade dressing and housemade croutons which was spectacular. I prefer romaine lettuce but the spring mix was tossed in the dressing and piled on the plate with freshly ground parmesan. I ate it all. Tried the Fettuccine Alfredo because she said they make the Alfredo in house and it was beyond fresh, a beautiful half portion to finish the night. I lived in Bloomington for 5 years in the 80s, how did I miss this place. All this food for $25...amazing...not including my drinks wine tax and tip. I cannot wait to go back and will make a reservation for sure. Obviously a favorite for local families...felt like home. Bravo.

We were traveling and I decided to go to an Italian restaurant we found on Trip Advisor. BIG MISTAKE. The positive comment is the staff was kind and hospitable (A+). Our server was the best. The atmosphere was clean, old school, and fun.Here comes the negative: well, our appetizer was meatballs. The bottom of the meatballs were so overcooked that it was difficult to cut even with a knife. Oh my, the entrees were pitful, I got the cannelloni. Traditionally , the pasta is stuffed with ground beef and pork with some cheese. My cannelloni were stuffed with the meat AND peppers AND spinach. Yuck!🤢 The second entree of lasagna was more like a casserole than lasagna. I applaud the restaurant for being in business for 80 years. Quite a feat! The owner needs to conduct an honest review of these two Italian entrees being served.

Great food and service in a small quaint setting, it’s not a fancy place but it is oozing of personality and history! I highly recommend!! I ordered the A La Baldini pizza and I ate the whole thing! The menu was full of choices, I want to go back!

Very quaint small restaurant. Definitely make reservations 2 hours before they open for day of dining. Very good food & friendly staff. Walking distance to Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Can reserve a larger room upstairs for larger parties.

There’s a reason this has lasted since 1936! The food was hot, flavorful and authentic. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the family atmosphere and highly suggest the chips and hot bread sticks for apps! Satisfied all around. Great spot with charm!
Great atmosphere and feels like a small town place. The buttered garlic shrimp had the noddles overcooked and flavors were just on The chicken Parm was unique and good. Nothing crazy but good.

Me and my boyfriend stopped in for dinner, we didn’t have a reservation but we got sat right away. Our server, Ira, was so nice and added to the great vibe. Made our first time a good one. The food was also very yummy and reasonably priced! The fried ravioli was a great appetizer and my chicken parm was really good. I’d for sure go back!!
