I ordered some food for pickup, and let me say that I've never had BBQ that wasn't at the very least tolerable. This however was some of the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. The meat was covered with ash that turned into a mushy mix of sorts. The baked beans and cornbread was awful too. Everything tasted like unclean feet at best. Worst food I've ever had. I couldn't even justify giving any of it to my dog.

The owner gene likes to screw over entrepreneurs and is a lying no good business owner. He cussed at me to get out of his shop whilst I respectfully came to confront him about late payment. Proceeding to tell me I will never get paid and lying to my face. Horrible owner and operator.
Excellent food, generous portions, friendly folks! All around recommend!
Today, we ate like kings. When we first entered the establishment, we were greeted like family. They asked if we would like to sample the meats to help decide what we would dine on today. We ordered and received very large portions of food. The brisket and pulled pork are top-notch. As good or better than the more popular bbq restaurants in the St. louis area. We left with our bellies full and enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Oh, and the cornbread. The cornbread is amazing. I am looking forward to visiting this fine establishment again in the near future.

Super friendly, great service, explained their process on the meats. I had the brisket, it was good. The thing that stood out the most was their Jalapeno brisket cornbread. Yes that is right, all of that in a hearty size of sweet corn bread. It was awesome.

Passing through town on our way to Grandson's graduation at SIUE with wife. We were both hungy. Ordered the 2 meat special with briskets and pulled pork. Absolutely the best I've had. Plenty of food.

We tried this place not long after it opened. They've expanded the menu and rearranged the interior, both for the better. The food was good, the people we talked to were very nice. We will go there again.

My food was handed to me with a handshake and conversation. That hits home in a small town. The food was large portions for a very small price. Excellent flavor. Well done guys ! Welcome to Brighton.
