Really love coming here to get sandwiches and supporting a local business. However the old lady who makes the sandwiches is always so crabby and makes you feel very unwelcome. Every time I have come she always has the same poor attitude. Showed up today at 9:50 the door was open didn’t realize they didn’t open until 10 all the butchers were friendly and welcomed me in however the old lady behind the deli counter would not stop complaining how “ well I guess we are open!” And looking at her watch. Although it’s been a few year but if you are going to do things like be on chicagos best you might want to realize you are going to generate a following and better treat your customers with respect. It is job security after all. There is plenty of places around the city to eat. May have to rethink this going forward.

I walked in asking if I could get the password for the wifi and was told “No” I really couldn’t believe it. I of course had to explain like it was their problem I didn’t have compatible capabilities. I’m so glad I visited today!! Excellent service. Excellent sandwiches. Thank you so much!!

The employees and everyone that I met was quite helpful all greeted me with a smile and the meat quality was fantastic as a long for other things that were on the menu the seafood gumbo off the chain as the young kids say busting bustle and their steaks and burgers are wonderful

If you want delicious meat, poultry, seafood, and deli meats, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Dorfler's has an impressive selection of Prime grade meat, fresh poultry, and seafood! We love coming here for so many of their items. My go-to items are always Prime filets, ribeyes and NY Strips. They also have the most amazing marinated skirt steaks! My son always requests "The Meat Dude's" skirt steaks when we think about doing steak tacos at home. They're tender and so flavorful. We even do the regular skirt steaks, trimmed to order. Our annual Christmas Prime Rib comes from Dorfler's and we are NEVER disappointed! It's tender, flavorful, well marbled, with the bones trimmed off and tied back on to keep the flavor all there. In addition to main proteins, I've tried their homemade frozen soups and their prepared sides! My family really likes their au gratin potatoes and roasted vegetables. Their stuffed mushrooms are big and packed with stuffing. Their twice baked potatoes makes dinner an easy meal. They have desserts too, my sons love their lemon bars. The store is clean, spacious, and they have a nice parking lot. The staff!!! I can't begin to describe how incredible the service is here! Every person behind the counter is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I've never seen any of them without a smile, no matter how busy it is or how crazy my order is. They greet everyone like they're old friends. You won't be disappointed stopping in for a sandwich or deli meats too! They serve grilled skirt steak sandwiches during lunch, but I've never tried it. I imagine it to be good since it's with their own skirt steaks. OH! and Santa visits during Christmas so it's a double win for us!

Great service. I was out in less than 5 minutes with my 4 pound brisket! Competitive price for a quality cut of meat.

The food we got for Thanksgiving was very good except the Butternut Squash Soup was too sweet. They need to improve on their customer service skills by acknowledging their existence. This was my second time getting Thanksgiving dinner from them. When you walk into the store, they do not acknowledge you. You stand there like an idiot waiting to get their attention from their employees ( particularly one of their employees). They attended to all the customers except me. They put everyone's heavy stuff inside the car but didn't even offer to help me out to the car. They might be in the community for a long time but customer skills needs a boost. I don't know if it something to do with my race( didn't want to pull the race card) but it felt like I was an alienated. Hopefully in future I will not have to face such a thing. Thank you

You get what you pay for. The quality is above what you will find in the food stores. We've gone to Dorflers for over 22 years

I eat here almost daily. Usually it’s soup, or some deli meat with potato salad but today; I had the turkey and rice soup. Bomb. Fire. So good. If you are a soup person highly recommend any of the soups. Personally, the chicken country soup and spit pea are my favorites but, the turkey and rice soooo ( not a mistype I wanted to accentuate so ) good.

Great service. Very flexible, you can place orders with specific requirements as to size, weight, etc. to get the meat to your needs. Superior quality meat - way better than supermarket.

Great meat selection AND great service. I bought a beef tenderloin for family brunch and happened to walk in right before they were closing. The butcher gave me all the time I needed to look, ask questions, and select the perfect cut of me for my family event. I will definitely be back for the meat selection and to try their lobster deviled eggs. They sound AMAZING!!!

I have been going to Dorfler’s forever!!! Stephen, Dale, Alex and Marlene are the best and so is everyone else. I never buy meat anywhere else. Stephen-the scallops were amazing and I didn’t overcook them. I can’t wait for New Year’s Eve. 2 dozen, or more, of fresh oysters. The big ones! Love being part of the Dorfler Family. Marlene, I will be ordering a marinaded skirt steak soon with the works. They are amazing!!!

Eek! I like to go to the smallish butcher shops because the quality is usually better and of course they can accommodate most requests. As such , I don't mind paying a little more. Was in the area so figured I'd try here. Most the steaks didn't have a price/lb which should have been a red flag. Got two ribeyes and find out they were $36 per pound and two ribeyes costed me $82! Just a few months ago I went to my regular butcher shop and got 4 ribeyes for the same price. I don't mind paying more if the steak is a really good cut but when I came home and turned the stakes over the backside was almost all grayish and they started to have "that smell". I'd be embarrassed as a butcher to know Costco, heck even jewel has better meat. High prices and poor quality.....they should stick to making sandwiches.
